It's difficult isn't it. One of the problems is that people have different requirements. While some won't even consider answering a message unless it's well crafted and interesting others are happy to receive a brief request to look at a person's profile and see if there's any interest.
I'd say stick with what you're doing and eventually you'll get a response  |

I really struggled with the chat rooms at first but soon got the hang of it! Having said that, there are some days when I'll go in to 'General Chat' and not get further than saying hello |
