known issues are mainly electrical problems.
The 2L diesel should just be a steady reliable workhorse, it’s not powerful enough to have been ragged and raced everywhere.
As any car...If it’s been looked after it should be perfectly fine (French cars are excluded from this statement) |

Bought one just over a month ago. 2l diesel AWD. I love it. Problems - no coat hook, no auto folding mirrors. The remote AP kept crashing but is now fine. I can cope with the aforementioned problems. |

Until recently I had an 07 2.5 AWD Estate. Not the most economical of cars but enjoyable to drive until the transfer box failed in January. Far too much to repair with a new part so I got rid of it. Rear legroom also not the best either. Funnily enough, the recovery driver reckoned these cars are bullet proof. Obviously, not mine, despite fsh. |

"Is it all wheel drive?" no not all wheel drive. knowing the jobs it has had done in the last year I thought I would be stupid not to buy it. It has had new break disc's and pads all round, air con pump and belt renewed, the old one seized up, one new wheel bearing on the front oil change, and lucky for me the radiator support bar broke very rusty he had ordered a new one from jaguar £108 plus vat. and it has built in satnav heated seats climate control, so a lot of car for just £1,000 |

I had a 05 one that you r looking at. It’s was 5 years old when I got it, it was great for a few years then started the problems! It has a common issue with all of them which has probably being delt with by now since it’s a 04. I can’t remember what the name of it is but it was an electronic issue that cost about €500 to fix. The other issues were common for a car if that age. But I loved the car for the 5 years I had it. Spare parts weren’t that expensive cause it’s a Ford Mondao engine in all of them.
Best of luck. |

Don't buy it! They were always unloved cars, and the styling was so old-fashioned when they launched it 17 years ago and it's pre-historic now. It was every old-man-loyal-Jaguar- customer's last car before a hearse.
No dealers want them on their forecourts. They are just a tarted up Mondeo and the engine is basically the same as in a Transit. 2006 is pre-facelift and a 5 speed manual box.
If you want a 2006 Mondeo, then buy a Mondeo and save money! |
