I have met and enjoy the true friendship of a good number of fab members..but what gets me is you write to a member with advice or to ask if they are interested in chatting or meeting and they don't reply why cant a member who is not interested and have no intention of replying block the messenger that why the sender knows .

What are your views

There and to the left a bit

Nothing to say they're obliged to reply or take any action at all OP - in fact site FAQs state no reply is an acceptable way of saying no thanks.

It's really not worth worrying about - just accept that no reply means no interest

Its a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't. For every person who prefers to be blocked there's another who will start a thread entitled "blocked for no reason". You just can't win.

Why can't people just use the site how they want and not worry about what others do?

If you don't get a reply within say a week, you could block them.

What is the actual finishing school etiquette on replying to messages?

I don't think its rude to not reply to an unasked for message, it would be rude to tell you to fuck off.

I hate the phrase "manners cost nothing".

As if monetary cost is the only thing preventing people from replying to messages.

Why should people spend 2 minutes answering a message when there could be upward of a hundred in a woman's mailbox a day?

Would you have 3hrs a day just writing "thanks for the message, but no thanks"??

I'd rather be shagging. Lol

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I don't understand why the thread title is 'Lazy' but the OP is a moan about a perceived lack of manners.

The lack of a reply is probably a good indication of the lack of interest... unless you are clicking refresh every 5 seconds to see if they have written back it shouldnt make a huge difference
