During our evening meal my wife and eldest daughter were having a discussion about men. This girls chat, usually ignored, centred around a mother having concerns about her son using her foundation.
Apparently this is now quite normal with such things as Manscara and Guyliner etc being available. These comments were passing over as usual, until I heard my daughter mention 'sucking pants' for men. Well I just had to ask 'what in gods name are sucking pants?'  I was left wondering why the pair of them had collapsed into fits of uncontrollable belly laughter every time I insisted on an explanation. 
Eventually they explained that my daughter had said 'suck in' pants for their love handles. Bemused and confused I exclaimed - you must be kidding me 'men can buy pants that suck on their love handles now!' They actually meant male girdles, and of course I repeatedly heard sucking instead of the easily misheard comment suck in - oh how they laughed.
What misheard or understood comment has caused you embarrassment ? |

Visiting folk in Scotland, was asked what I thought - so think scottish accent here! "Have you a wee cough", so I replied had a bit of a cold, but ok now thanks, met by stoney silence, I had actually be asked have you a "week off"
