Random question I know but I want to find a car hire place that you can actually choose the specific car. I don’t want ‘or something similar’ and I’m trying to avoid a luxury car hire places if possible.
Anyone have any tips or experience with the big chains?

I worked in car rental. Because companies are national and cars come and go around Britain they cant be 100% sure what will come back when because of extending rentals break downs etc so will always be "something similar "
You can however add a preference into it booking and certainly at my company we tried to accomodate x
Unless u book a Mercedes which is classed as a luxury vehicle and will show in the cost im.afraid x |

It’s for a trip in October and we take a film guy so we need a convertible and an automatic that will fit four people, one of whom is 6ft 7 so I don’t want to fold him into a Fiat 500

Yeah that’s what happened last year... I’d booked a Beetle but when I got there they didn’t have one so we upgraded to the Mercedes C class which was epic but the boss didn’t half rip the piss so I was hoping for something a little less slutty.  |

I loved it but I got away with it cause I was staying on for a week after the trip. I’m coming home this time so can’t blag my way out of having a flash car sadly. |

I’m not paying... it’s a work thing and whilst I’m on a budget, I can probably spend a bit extra within reason. I just want to be able to say ‘I want that one please’ |
