What helps you sleep !?
Need some methods to help
In bed eyes closed for hours sometimes and I just can not drift off
I look at the clock and it’s time to get up and then I realise I haven’t slept a wink! |

"Vodka.
Well yes I get that !
But can’t drink alcohol every night "
Why not? I do most nights...
Though the crazy arsed toddler method also works, just listening to my granddaughter wears me out... |

You can down load a sleep hypnosis app that will take you through a deep relaxation into sleep that works really well and normally sends me off every time i listen to it |

Real answer, though I do use a lot of vodka...
Fresh air, and gentle exercise. If you really can't sleep put a coat on, go out into the garden and do a personal version of Ti Che (it's ok, it's dark nobody can see) 15 minutes later try sleep again. |

I’d love to have a drink every night !
But single parent emergency and alcohol don’t mix !
NYE 3 years ago drove to a party
Left the car ! Taxi home
My daughter became very ill next day
( not life threatening )
No Car dam dam
No taxis free so
had to take her to hospital on a bus
She wasn’t impressed
Diagnosed with Scarlett fever
So tend not to drink much! (Unless out!)
Unless another responsible adult is around
I’m only 1 miles from the hospital now so not so bad

Done the single parent thing a long time ago, it's hard especially with young ones who are in bed early, you feel trapped in the living room for hours keeping the noise low... Really difficult to get normal sleep.
That's when I learned to dance in the garden... |

It may work by a window, just turn the lights off. I actually do it with a quaterstaff, not exertion because that energizes me, but slow controlled movements semi meditation ti chi is the best I can describe it.
Give it a go, can't hurt, may help... |

Love to tell you but I'll get a ban sorry. I've suffered Indonesia all my life and constantly swoping from day shift to night shift really doesn't make it any better. I regularly go 3 4 and even 5 days on no sleep what's so ever so I really do feel your pain. |

I can understand that as I suffer with something similar
And I see maybe you should consult a doctor about your sleeping problems unless you already have? |

Hide your clock
Get up and do something for 10 minutes
Have a hot shower before bed
Lower the temperature of the room
Wear socks to bed
Try to force yourself to stay awake
A few things from an article |

Wide awake now which is bad since it’s 4am reading a post about not sleeping.
Depending on your condition fresh air long walks to tire you out some destressing to clear your mind and even a good book may free up your mind to let you sleep.
Only time I can’t get to sleep if deep down I am worried about something whether that be work or personal.
Not much help really as no doubt you’ve tried everything at some point

Two things which always help me are...both feet out of the bottom of the bed. Cool feet = happy sleep for me. Also leaving the television on with the volume turned down, but not off. I used this one while working nights, you get used to sleeping with background noise. Plus I don't know many people who don't fall asleep while watching television. |

I have a noise generator/relaxation app on phone
You can mix sounds till you get a frequency that soothes and save it, add on timer for switching it off too.
I fall asleep (eventually if alone) within 15 mins if it is playing...currently to mix of a fan, rail tracks, white & brown noise and light rainfall |

Sleep is something that often eludes me, nothing seems to help, have tried cutting out caffeine, meditation and everything hing else the doctors have ever suggested. By all accounts, I manage about 1.5 to 2 hours unbroken deep sleep a night |

A hot bath
A milky drink or Ovaltine
Reading in bed too.
Perhaps try cutting out caffeine in the evening if your drink tea or coffee.
Other than this no advice I'm afraid.
I hope you manage to get some sleep at least Op. |

Reading helps, it distracts your mind so it can’t wonder to the day to day worries and stresses and it makes your eyes tired so you can drop off, eventually you can’t keep your eyes open, hope you get some good sleep soon op, lacking sleep too often can effect all sorts of other aspects of life |

Get out of your bed, go to the kitchen and have a glass of water or tea. Give it 1/2 and you'll nod off in a flash. If the climate allows, go for a short walk in the garden, just do something to break the cycle of laying in bed and trying to sleep-it doesn't work. My man is hyperactive and doesn't sleep if he does run each day or if he misses the gym. he gave up coffee a month ago and now only drinks lemon green tea with a slice of lemon in it. he swears that he's addicted to his new brew now and that he'll never drink coffee again. We used to drink a tea in the US called "Sleepy Time Tea", haven't seen it in this country but it used to work in a very stressful work environment. |

1. Regular income.
2. Paid bills
3. Enough to keep warm
4. Supportive relationships
5. Clean eating
6. Physically busy during daylight hours
7. Turn t.v , radio, computer, phone and bright lights off at least one hour before going to bed. ( people fail to realise that blue light emissions keep your brain awake but your body is exhausted )
8. No Tea or Coffee after 5 p.m. ish.
9. Use toilet last thing before bed
10. FFS ...... don't use alcohol. D*unks lie in an ennervating coma and remain sleep deprived.
Ohmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
