I'm a single straight male. My pictures always seem to be "Fabbed" by blokes

I guess men "fab" pictures more than women as the ratio of male to female on this site are higher and therefore women have the luxury to stand to one side and gain attention?

For the women out there, what do I need to do to make a more attractive photo? Or do I have to resign to the thought that I'm just not doing it for you?

I wouldn't really worry about it. Are you comfortable with your sexuality? If you are then it doesn't matter all that much.

As a straight man I'd love women to message! They don't because they don't need to fish.

Women do Fab pics they like OP it's just, as you say, there's a higher proportion of men to women on the site and a number of those are bi (either openly or Fab straight) and men being visual creatures will tend to Fab more anyway. Add to that that a lot of women shy away from Fabbing pics because of the tendency of some men to take it as a signal of interest rather than pure appreciation for a pic and you start to get the picture.

Just take it as a compliment when anyone Fabs your pic and don't think too much about it.

In all seriousness OP and to come back to your original question - you have to come up with pics that are appealing that aren't in your face cock pics, or ones with messy rooms or joke ones like the mayo/salad cream/jizz/Dove one all of which you have on your profile - I just had a quick look and there are maybe two of yours I'd consider posting a similar pic of myself, and even then not without stylising them a little or adding a filter of some kind.

I'm honestly not blowing my own trumpet here but I just had a quick look at my last two posted pics both of which have 40+ Fabs each and the total number of Fabs from men is in single figures

Maybe take a look around at other successful guys profiles for ideas of what might work - but don't forget, you could have the best pics going but without a decent profile and messages to back it up, they won't count for anything.

I find that the only women who Fab my pics are either in my friends' list, or are people I 'sparr' with on a regular basis in the forums, in both cases, they know I won't bombard them with messages thinking, because they Fabbed my pics, they want to get me in the sack

Hey OP. I saw your photos and didn’t want to make matters worse by saying that they were ok, as you don’t need to hear that from another bloke. The advice above in the main was good and the ‘feedback’ was pretty lighthearted. Take it as it was meant, as a bit of friendly ribbing, rather than anything personal. My photos were really shit when I started, significantly worse than any of yours. But they’ve evolved to the point were they’re just crap now. I even got told my job should be a ‘Shrek lookalike’. I could take it as an insult but I choose to see it as lighthearted banter and let it wash over me. I deliberately don’t Fab straight guys unless I know they like to have their pictures appreciated by anyone, or I simply cannot resist the urge to signal my appreciation of a great picture. Just take it as a compliment, that’s often all it is.

I get Fabbed by guys all the time, and while it can be a little frustrating with the lack of female attention, I have learned to accept it and feel flattered that I am attractive to someone, it does not have to be reciprocated and you do not have to talk to them, getting pissed off about it is just a waste of energy

I don’t think Fabbing pictures has anything to do with who one might meet. I prefer playing with men, but I prefer looking at women. I Fab pictures of women because I like the pictures, but I have no intention of meeting them. Imagine how strange it would look if a woman said ‘I’m straight, how to I stop women Fabbing my pics?’ Also I know if I Fab a picture of a women she is unlikely to message us, but if I Fab a picture of a man he might message. So I will only Fab men if I want them to message.

Brutal honesty.... I wouldn't fab your pics because they don't appeal to me. They're unfocused and poorly lit.

I fab pics that I actually like! Ones that are bright, attractive, imaginative... I have people on my hotlist I will never meet, because they don't match my sexual preferences... but DAMN!! I enjoy their pics and show my appreciation by fabbing them.

You don't have to be an adonis or a goddess to get fabs (Admittedly it probably does help though)... just put a little effort in. I'd give you a list of guy's profiles to check for inspiration.... but they'd probably be embarrassed at being named

You can't other than in settings select the option for no fabbing. Then no one fab but can view. This isn't such a bad option to be fair as it can generate messages from ladies who may just want to fab but can't and so will message saying this.

Why does it bother you?

When i had my single page it was mostly guys fabbing, still is to be honest with my pics on couples page. Didnt put me up nor down, it doesnt mean you have to have a meet with them. Thats what the fab button is for. Dont see the harm especially when you say you already blocked men from messaging. G

Yep. They're removed. I've been on FAB for about 5 years. Aways enjoyed the site, always enjoyed the forums but the ridicule I got was down right rude. OK I posted the thread and expected "banter". Banter though is a two way process and can be hurtful when it's just one sided. Got some lovely friends on here who have PMd me. Learnt my lesson. Don't post if you want to be unfairly ridiculed. Ho hum

Intent is important, yes and it’s really important to clarify by questioning. Perceived receipt is also important and valid - ie. when someone’s intent is harmless on clarifying but it feels not harmless to the person receiving - then it’s important for both parties to appreciate that and own the experience or intent of the other. Just saying, didn’t mean it snowflake, is not enough. IMO.

I haven’t seen the original photos, but judging from the thread it’s been suggested, in perhaps a piss take sort of way, that perhaps you might be bi. Obviously I haven’t seen those pictures so don’t know if they didn’t indeed make it look like you are bi. However, having read this thread from the beginning, it’s not obvious to me what is so offensive. Unless of course it’s the suggestion of being bi that is a massive insult? If that’s what offended you so much, that makes sense as you also seem somewhat offended that men are a Fabbing your pictures, to the extent that you wanted to know how you could stop this. I don’t think anybody really understand why it bothered you that men were Fabbing your pics. Given that you seem regard the suggestion of being bi as an insult, and that you want to stop men Fabbing your pics, I’m guessing you have have quite a negative issue with bisexuality?

No it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s homophobic. You are right it could be that he just feels uncomfortable with those outside his tartlet market enjoying his photos that he put on publicity display. On the other hand he might be homophobic, given that he was also highly offended when others suggested he might be bi. But again that doesn’t mean he’s homophonic, he could just be easily offended. With regards to my publics, they are there to be enjoyed (and wanked over) by anybody regardless of age or sexuality. If I had a problem with that I wouldn’t put them on a public website.

I agree and that's why I don't have public pics. They can wank over my carrot though.

If I was straight I'd be offended if people started saying I was bi. Many people avoid bi people. I'd prefer them not wanting to meet me because I'm an arse or they didn't fancy me, than avoiding me for something that wasn't true.

I don’t know what the pictures were that led people say he might be bi. I guess it goes to show how careful one needs to be with their pictures if they don’t want people suspecting something that’s not true.

I'm not even sure the OP indicated discomfort at them being fabbed by men, just queried why they were and why he didn't get Fabs from women - so no his comments don't necessarily make him homophobic as such, that I can agree with

And to be perfectly honest even if people were wanking over his pics - by uploading and publically displaying pics of yourself on a site like this you accept that people may use them for that purpose - I honestly couldn't care less if they were doing so over mine (which I very much doubt) so long as they didn't then use that to impact me in any way.

He did specifically say that he doesn’t want men to Fab his pictures. He wanted to know if there was a way this could be prevented, and have only women Fab his pictures. He didn’t say why this bothered him, but maybe men appreciating his pictures makes him feel like uncomfortable.

The rest of the thread though has been blown out of proportion somewhat - suffice to say there were pics in the OPs profile at the time that were indistinct enough to cause other posters to (mostly) good naturedly question whether the OP was bi and if he was why fabs from other men were such a concern

I think if those photos did indeed make his sexuality unclear, then the forum posters pointing this out to him (albeit in a piss-taking manner) have probably done him a favour. Now he knows that his choice of photos caused others to think he might be bi, so he can now do something about it.

Exactly this, pisstaking is fine but the pisstaker needs to be aware when the person they are taking the piss out of is not enjoying it...and they should really stop after that.
