Can cope with rest of year but Christmas is where I feel totally alone single parent spending another year on my own. Although work enough to cover bills not a lot left over to save and so much pressure for gifts and stuff but then others are in the same boat too. |

Totally know how you feel hunny.
This year I am on my own with the kids for Xmas, first one in over 7 years. Plus none of family cooking as we having our Xmas dinner on boxing day at a local Toby Inn. Not looking forward to it at all  |

I used to hate Xmas, just put it down to being a bit of a "bah, humbug!!"
However, things have changed, and now I am like a kid again, I cant wait!
Last year it all came to a head, and I finally figured it out.......money!
I hated it cos I couldnt buy nice pressies.... now I can afford to be a bit more generous, and not worry about how to afford a turkey etc I love it!!!
We can relax, invite family round, feed them well and give them pressies, see their faces light up.
I know it isnt supposed to be about how much you spend, and I really didnt think it mattered, but it's the "not worrying about the bills" bit that helps me be less "Scrooge", and more "Merry Christmas"!  |

That's a major factor in many homes over christmas unfortunately. xx |

My birthday is New Years Eve. I grew to hate Christmas as everyone sent me a pressie with and a happy birthday written on it.
I rebelled at 12 and sent them all birthday presents with and a Merry Christmas on.   |

I love Xmas, I go up to Scotland and see my family. It's about the only time we are all together. I am up for over a week this time so will catch up with some old school friends too  |

Many an Xmas here was only possible with the generosity of family and friends, its great to be able to repay that!!! |
