Google's offering little in the way of experiences as are Facebook friends... so can some people here tell me about their experiences please?
All I know is that having small boobs will be a benefit as they won't flap around and cause a fuss.  |

It’s a completely painless procedure involving a technician sticking electrodes to your arms, legs and chest with sticky pads. They are attached to a monitor which picks up your heart rhythm and translates it to a squiggly line on a monitor or print out on a long piece of paper. The squiggly line is then analysed to see what rhythm your heart is beating in (I’m assuming you’re having a resting ECG as opposed to an exercise or 24/48 hr ambulatory test). Lie back and think of England... no wait! Don’t do that!! Good luck |

The worst bit is the taking off of the little sticky pads. It’s a very painless procedure, though I was a tad embarrassed go have to take my bra off and lie back and relax at that time x |

Easy you lay there for 5/10 mins and breathe normally.
You have to be braless, but generally if your having ECG or echos I'm sure you have more on your mind then showing abit of boob.
Only horrible bit is pulling the sticky bits off after.
They can generally tell you if it's a normal looking one, there and then.

If you get a red mark or rash with adhesives let them know.
Having small boobs really helps as the readings are weaker with big boobs.
The most awkward bit is getting the electrodes attached in the right places. If the readings aren't clear they just do it again and you just lay for longer.

I had the 48hr one, it's one time I looked strange and thought should I remive the rest of my chest hair, didn't realise how sticky those pads were. Thankfully the nurse shaved the parts they were attached to first. |

My mum used to be a cardiology technician and did ecgs every day for 20 years.
It takes a few minutes and is completely painless.
You will be asked to remove all your clothing from your upper body. They may give you a sheet to cover yourself with.
Electrodes will be placed on your skin in a specific placement. They are just like stickers. The technician will then attach the leads from the ecg machine to the electrodes. They will take the reading and it will be reported on by a doctor and the results are usually sent to your GP. All you have to do is just lay there while the machine does it's thing. The size of your boobs won't matter to the technician doing the ecg or the results. If you have big ones like me it can mean wrangling them out of the way but those of us with big ones are used to this!
The technicians are trained to be able to read and interpret the ecg but because they are not a doctor they will not give you any results. Occasionally they will see something on an ecg that gives cause for concern and they will ask the patient to wait while they consult a doctor.
This is rare but my mum had to do this at least once a month. She would call a doctor to a patient who had something of concern on their ecg and they would usually be admitted to hospital immediately. |

I've done the one on a treadmill that gets faster and steeper and tests your heart under stress and if you have a heart attack your in good hands and in the right place.  |
