It will be a very good match to watch. Kick off 0900 UK time on sat 15th.

that decision is going to haunt allan rolland... I like him as a ref but he has basically ruined the semi... at worst sin-bin him and let the panal look at it... but you can't send him off....

I think it was a perfect tackle and made sure he landed on his back....

I guess you either love or hate him...

I like Walsh....he might of had a strong word, or sin binned with a rollicking...that would of set the boundary...

It had the potential to be a dangerous tackle..but never ..never ..never....a red card ....

Killed the biggest game in players lives....

IRB....wake up....

Reading

From a professional ref: They've been asked to tighten up on tip tackles.

He had solid footing (he didn't slip as the welsh commentator suggested). You can't seriously say that he made an effort to get the guy to ground safely. He lifted too high, lost control and had to drop him. On his neck.

I am gutted for Wales, it seems like a decision has been made to prove a point and Wales are the victims of it. Equally, I dislike the way the Welsh team have played their way to the World Cup, and feel they're developing an ethos counter to the way rugby should be played.

Internet scuttlebutt also suggests a punch thrown. Yellow card+punch would be a red.

I can't stand walsh... mind you I don't think there are many southern hemisphere refs I like.... he might be the best of a bad bunch..

but back to the tackle.. he released him so thats not a spear tackle... it will be interesting to see what the panal do.. because that red automatically carries a 1 match ban... i think that will be overturned....

I respect yer opinion....

However....a sin binning and as Fabio said....let the panel decide...if he was cited...

Walsh would of handled that completely differently.....he communicates..

Rolland might have been born in Ireland but his father is French.......need I say more.

All that technology at hand, penalty yes and a yellow card maybe.

Bet he'll be having a nice holiday in the South of France on the strength of that decision......the twat!!!! R

It could of turned into a spear tackle....it was potentially dangerous...

Give a penalty...mabye a sin binning....pull the captain to one side and set the boundary....fer fucks sake....sorry I`m wound up....

Still a score from Wales will bolster the belief..its pyschology now..

Yep...interesting to see the IRB`s reaction...

As I said, decision was a harsh one. It WAS a sin bin, and only a red if the punches were thrown.

Referees are making a point this season, Wales have suffered for it. It is a point that needs to be made though.

I guess there was a need to toughen up on the percieved trend with spear tackles...tis terrible when neck injuries rob a player of his health..

IRB...do issue directives....as always we watch as referees over compensate in the way they interpret the Laws...

A referee`s decision ought to be based on an objective assessment on the overall circumstances...

If he was protecting himself from a French assault ..a reasonable referee would take that into account...else all who threw punches should be sanctioned...

A sanction fer dangerous play is not an automatic red....a sin binning normally gives 7 points away..so...anyway...

Yep I agree a yellow was appropriate...

I`ve a feeling IRB will back Rolland...

total injustice even a man short wales only team tried to play rugby.

however descion not to go for drop goal as bad a decision as sending off.

referees easy to critisise and welsh coach likely will but wont then critisise own players for there there mistake over drop goal decision.

They should never let anyone referee an international who has a parent from one of the opposing countries.

I doubt he'd been allowed to referee if Ireland had been playing.

O.K it was probably just a straightforward bad decision but who can say.

That one's going to haunt him for sure. And James Hook must be wondering how things would have gone if he hadn't lost traction as he kicked his second penalty.

Not attempting the drop goals lost it for us. We played magnificently with a man down, whether we should have lost him will be a matter of debate for the next 4 years. Sadly Ioosing Adam Jones would have hurt our chances had we made the final.

I wonder if they were going for the try instead. A Welsh drop goal would have put them 2 in front, so France could re-take the lead with a single penalty or drop goal. A Welsh try, even unconverted, would put them 4 in front, leaving France needing a try of their own or 6 points off the boot to win. Perhaps Wales were thinking too far ahead?
