So I live out in the sticks
12 miles to nearest town or supermarket, have used Asda every week to deliver the groceries as it’s simpler and cost effective!
They have only gone and bloody cancelled due to the weather!!
What am I going to do? Lol
Anyone else this happened to
Luckily I have food in, but I’m sure some won’t have! |

Can’t really blame them but I agree it’s a bit of a pain in the ass.
I’m a courier and have cried off today because it’s iust not worth the danger of getting stuck.
I finished 3 hours late last night because I had to reroute a few times just that get home last night and count myself lucky |

"10” of snow here can’t even get off the drive lol"
But you expected as da to get to you?
Given this has been forecast for days did you not plan ahead and think to get a delivery earlier in the week? |

I got my first asda delivery yesterday and I was surprised they came but then we haven’t had much, I thanked the driver for still delivering food. Although I was far then impressed with the substitutes and missing items, or the quality of some! Plus bread that did not state it was for midgets..glad I got two loaves!

"Dusting off my hiking boots, for a cold yomp up to Morrisons. Only half a mile, so 4 extra layers should suffice "
Should have seen the state of me yesterday, put a few extra layers on for a 2 and a bit mile walk to work which is fine but.. It's almost entirely uphill. I was rather warm lol |

That's the dilemma with cold weather - need to wrap up against the wind chill but the downside is that any heat generated from effort, has nowhere to escape.
Did you take a sledge, for the downhill home? |

We have a Tesco delivery scheduled for this afternoon and we don't know yet if it will arrive. I would rather my delivery get cancelled if it is going to put the driver at risk.
We have plenty of tinned food in the cupboards and stuff in the freezer. If necessary I will wrap up warm and have a walk to the nearest supermarket for fresh bread, milk and vegetables. |

It's amazing how we can land people on the moon but getting half your shopping arriving in the form it was advertised is apparently out of reach.
This annoys me more than it should. First world problems I guess. |

You do know that no one has ever been on the moon, right? |

Well done Asda!
The safety of their employees is far more important than a few missed deliveries and pissed off customers.
One of our couriers had to be rescued yesterday evening after he slid off the road and ended up in a ditch. Lo and behold, all we got was people shouting at the customer service team in the office that he hadn’t delivered their parcel.
People like that really do need to give their head a wobble and realise what’s important |
