I had a guy say he could not come to a meet because his uncle (father's only brother) had died the day before.
Out of sympathy i said not to worry, we will try again. So a year later i invite him again.
He was VERY keen to come, then 2 days before the meet his uncle died. "Which one?" I asked. "Dad's only brother" he replied.
So i said "That is very sad, especially as he died last year as well."
He blocked me!!  |

Had a message come through two hours prior saying “ I’m on my way “ mobile data said x amount of miles away , then another message came through saying “ I’m in hospital with a broken shoulder “ |

After providing a phone number, to arrange the exact location of the 6pm meet, several hours in advance, I message just after 6pm, saying that I've not heard.
'You didn't say that it was OK to phone you'
(He wouldn't give his number first and had had several days to arrange).

I used to keep a list of excuses as it was getting to the ridiculous stage. I know some were genuine as I subsequently met them or knew them beforehand. Not all were on Fab.
One guy stood me up as he ended up working on the Brad Pitt movie WWZ. He was part of the SWAT team as he had a firearms licence and could shoot the blanks. He also sourced props for them.
Another guy had a firework thrown at his car causing damage.
One guy ended up in hospital with shingles. I was all dressed up with nowhere to go. He was off work for weeks.

Re not sharing face pic- I do not send one first, and I'll only send it to people I have agreed to meet.
Also, I hate chatting on the phone and prefer not to give away my number.
Does those two personal preferences make me a time waster? If yes, then so be it- I am a fake and a time waster.  |

I experienced a time waster at a meet! He said he was too tired to do anything as he had been cleaning all morning, said he couldn’t even raise a smile! What a waste of time donning a black basque and stockings! |

I was chatting to a guy who was going to come over for a date we'd set ages ago. Even said to him when I was chatting to him on the day "see you tonight". Never showed.
When I accidentally bumped into him a few weeks later his excuse was "I didn't know it was THAT night"
That was a night we'd rented a flat with a bunch of people, so wasn't sitting on my own thankdfully. He's actually still on my friends list. Think it's about time he comes off  |

I had to cancel a meet with a couple , after a phone call saying the alarm at work had gone off .
Meet was for 1am
Home at 5am, alarm finally sorted they messaged me come now .
I had to tell them the mood has gone , but thanks anyway .

Had a guy cancel on me because he just came.
Least he was honest I guess.
At least some of them give you a half baked excuse. The amount I've had not bother telling me is crazy. The conveniently going offline for hours is a popular choice it seems. |

Was hoping to see someone tonight but this is true, my car is completely dead  its been playing up for a while n I think the battery was going senile and now died. So that's that then and no money left for anything, including food or taxi till Fri.
Meet wasn't set in stone yet though? :/ |

Chatted to a couple over a period of weeks. They were keen, pushing to meet and we had quite a few explicit chats. Then we exchange some messages about meeting the next day - the practical stuff about where when directions best roads to avoid snow problems etc - and they accuse me of "not sounding very keen". We're discussing travel arrangements ffs! Yet more fantasists. |

Cars still fubared that's my excuse. Walked 2 miles to Halfords in snow, no gloves or hat, to find it was shut. Can't push start it cos my drive is down hill n I can't get it up onto the road, too slippy. Called RAC but they're off the scale busy with all the people crashing, cant even take the battery out because it needs a power device to undo the locking nuts, and they're rusted. At least I tried? |
