Good Evening All,

If I could trouble you for a few minutes of your time.

Just starting up on a vinyl collection after having a portable record player given to me and wonder if there is any albums I should look to get.

Have a wide variety of genre in music and if it sounds good I will end up getting album.

Many Thanks for any input given.

Ray

We bought a portable turntable just at the end of 2016. My plan is to buy what I consider classic albums by artists that I like - Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Allman Brothers etc. Basically, I’m looking no later than the end of the 1970s. To be even more picky I’m staying well away from the remastered albums that are popping up, and sticking instead with record fairs and charity shops.

I've got hundreds of vinyl records but all northern soul and Motown, not many great albums but loads of top singles.

Unless you like the music and scene there's no point in investing

Good luck though

be sure to spend the day in Kelly's, upstairs in cardiff market ... masses of vinyl means hours of happy crate digging .... they let you spin the platters to see if you like it before you buy ... oldstyle
