It depends how you set "Privacy" up in fact.
If you set it up to hide profile from non-registered users and also to not have your profile listed on any search engines, then keep pics Private or friends only, you should be very very safe from having pics posted all over the net. |

The site I had reason to deal with last year was actually 'outing' people, putting up personal details about jobs/locations etc. Not cool and things like this should be heavily addressed as far as I'm concerned. It's a big problem. |

I still don't understand why anyone is arguing the toss on this subject - yes the photos are posted HERE in the public domain, but as soon as they're taken off and posted elsewhere that's an issue of consent.
If you don't have an issue with consent, you should have. This is a subject with far reaching consequences beyond a joke that people should take more responsibility for - by that I mean all of us. We're all on the same side.
If you're on these forums, and talking about this stuff, it proves you care, and do have a conscience.
It isn't a joke. It's peoples lives and livelihoods we're talking about. |

One way to protect yourself is to not have pictures on public. Or just have pictures you'd be happy with your Mother seeing.
Or pictures like mine which are so boring pervy Pete just would't be interested in stealing. Good luck to that I say.

I think people do care but what can we do? I don't have pics that people would want to steal and that's how I deal with it.
The police can't do anything as the issue is too big to tackle. They've got better things to do. The other sites probably don't care. Even if they take the pics down, more will appear. |
