This is normally a network issue when you use a laptop or pc remotely to connect to something like a works server or network. Can you verify if it is a stand alone laptop of whether he/she uses it to connect to his work email or network. |

Then it sounds like the Bios settings have become corrupt. You need to start it in safe mode and troubleshoot from there.
In Windows XP press the F8 key when you first turn it on and from the menu that displays use your arrow keys to move down to 'Safe mode' then press the Enter key.
When it's in safe mode select 'Load last known good configuration'.
If the laptop is running a Mac O/S or Linux, you'll have to find out how to get into Safe Mode with those operating systems as I only know Windows. |
