No carb is nigh on impossible. Lower carb is doable. Unless you don't like cauliflower. Cauliflower rice, cauliflower mash, buffalo spiced cauliflower florets...
Oh, and oopsie rolls/cloud bread. I even made a passable pizza out of those bad boys. |

The vegetarian low carb worked well for me and lost 10lbs in 4 weeks.
You need to like soya, spinach, cauliflower and I used almond flour & almond milk a lot.
Green smoothies are still my favourite breakfast and the almond flour no carb muffins.

Know a few friends who do keto and have done for a few years. One of them essentially had to stop having carbs for a medical issue and she dropped loads of weight and is much healthier and a more energetic person nowadays.
Apparently it's a really killer at first getting your body used to having low energy but after time it re-adjusts. |

Do carb cycling for comps you're wiped out... you cry. You feel like shit and if you don't be clever you'll rebound massively. Not worth it. ... regular exercise and healthy eating is sufficient |

You would need to cut out fruit and most veg to go zero carb |

And that would be most of your folate intake gone. |

"Sod that, I like my carbs and I'm still in shape. Just eat what you want within reason and if you want to lose weight just put less calories in than you're using. Weight training burns off plenty "
That doesn't always work if there are other issues. In order to lose I have to consume at least 1000 less calories a day than I am using, which means do one heck of a lot of time consuming exercise in order to eat anywhere near normally, or stick to an almost intolerably restrictive diet. |

Good for you.
Have a look at the research about ‘thin outside, fat inside’ and the calorie in/out thing that has been totally debunked.
Also gluconeogenesis and carb addiction. |

For weight loss (if that is your goal) there is little difference between a low carb or low fat diet.

CICO has not been "debunked" at all, except by people who do not understand that the human body is not a bomb calorimiter.
Indeed, Keto diets are a version of CICO, utilising the fact that breaking down fats "costs" more than carbs to engineer a deficit. |

calorie theory is dead, because,
8.7 million different species on earth.
none of them need to count calories !
Wheat is in the grass family so should primates eat grass ?
If you cut the carbs you lose weight easy.
High fat is good for you.
Protein dilution is the problem because you will keep eating till you meet your bodies requirement you cant fight your hormones,so stop fighting them.
above all it is not your fault !
peace and love to all you victims. |

Eh?
Species other than humans don't "need" to count calories because a) Humans are the only ones to use agriculture to produce a sustained surplus of food and more importantly;
b) They can't count. |

"Anyone tried it, results? Energy levels? Good bad or what are your thoughts "
What are ‘Your’ goals? Fat Loss, Bodybuilding or Maintaining what you’ve got? I would suggest you see a dietitian if you don’t want to do the correct research yourself. Unless you’re in the cutting stage for a bodybuilding competition, I would suggest you keep your macronutrients balanced. Even when competitors are cutting, everything is monitored and fine tuned. Do yourself a great favour see a professional.

Cutting out any food group completely (or as much as you can) isn't healthy or sustainable. The best way to lose weight is to eat a healthy balance of the food groups, and it's actually sustainable! |
