..

Playing out all day. Riding off on my red chopper (with glittery seat) for the day with my mates. We played in the woods, climbed trees, swam, ate bread and jam butties and got home for tea time. Not a care in the world.

Amazing exciting Christmas days with my family.

Playing conkers.

Summer holidays that felt like they went on forever.

Happy times

Boys in the park, jumpers for goalposts. Rush goalie. Two at the back, three in the middle, four up front, one's gone home for his tea. Beans on toast? Possibly, don't quote me on that. Marvellous.

Traffic land

Building dens with my brothers, going to the orchards for apple fights (ouch), whizzing down the black hill on my roller boots, playing kerby. Arctic roll, sugar sandwiches, Coca Cola floats and a Crusha milk shake after swimming

Going on adventures, playing out in the woods, building forts, penny mixtures, summer holidays lasting forever, skint knees, cartoons, riding bikes / skateboards / rollerblades and anything else on wheels, becoming best friends with new kids simply by asking if they want to come out and play, and no worries

School summer holidays, that were hot, swimming in the outdoor lido. Scrumping apples in the orchard. Mum packing us a picnic and disappearing for the day with your friends. A twin toy coach pram, sindy dolls.....

Playing balls and singing oxo cubes are good for you all you do is put them through in rhythm

Putting a ball in the leg of my mums tights and standing with my back to the wall and hitting the ball from side to side. Got many a slap for ripping them

Playing chinks (can't call it that now tho I don't think) made up of elastic bands

The Rag Van. Remember getting leathered for taking my mums bedding for a bouncy ball and balloon and my dad chasing after the van to get the guy. Never did catch it. Never saw my dad so angry lol x

York

Watching "Pugwalls summer" followed by Sharkey and George on a sunday morning.

Rope swings from trees

Building wooden go karts with pram wheels.

Playing army with cap guns.

Building dens in the woods.

Building tunnels through stacks of those square straw bales and sitting in them talking for hours about things that are important when you're a kid.

My childhood memories, where living in South Africa and going to the best school that help me with my disabilities like walking and speech therapy because when I was young I use to walk like a penguin and slight limp which I still have. Best thing of all was no TV at time till was older. We always have family days out to the pools, park and holidays or a game reserve. Well at school I use to swim for the school where I won gold medals and silver medals in the field events till I lift school when straight to work at age 18yrs old.

When I got a free kazoo with an issue of the Beano it was the best thing ever! The next week I think it was a plastic Gnasher glove puppet!

In those days gifts with a comic were a rarity to be cherished not like today where the comic is incidental to the gift!

North West UK

My TV watching as a kid consisted of Chips Highway Patrol... The Fall Guy... A Team and Knightrider.

Gordon the Gopher, BBC broom cupboard, Going Live... being stuck in goal because I was rubbish at football..

ZX Spectrum, rubber keys... going up town with my grandma on a Saturday, helping her with shopping and her spending 30p on sweets for us to eat before getting back to her house.
