I think I'm the person that gives the hero the confidence and belief in themself that they're a true hero.
Not so much a sidekick, actually, I can be hilarious, so yes, I'm the sidekick but not a dumb arse one.  |

The butler/housekeeper/geek behind the scenes type one. Neither hero nor sidekick but the one who keeps things going on an even keel when they're off being all heroic and potentially not thinking straight. |
