Last film I saw with my daughter, but I go to the cinema on my own all the time now I'm retired.
Local cinema has restaurant so make an afternoon of it. Other nearby cinema all films £4.99.
I holiday alone so local cinema is hardly a challenge. I have a partner, family and friends (j spend a month travelling with friends each year) I just love me time! |

What did you think of it? I thought it was great, but perhaps not *quite* as brilliant as the hype suggested. Certainly on par with some of the better Marvel films. The fact that it was set in Africa and featured a predominantly black cast was welcome, if only for a change of scenery and perspective. It had huge potential to feel a bit forced and worthy, but it really didn't. On the whole, I liked it, but I'm already on board with Marvel. I'd be interested to hear the opinion of someone who went to see it for the black social aspect, rather than for the "superheroes punching stuff" aspect. |

Winchester at Yeovil Cineworld, a great film and i adore Helen Mirren.
What concerns me though is that even though it had only just been released there were no more than a dozen people in the whole auditorium. Is this the death of cinema, has the internet finally won out? I sincerely hope not. |

I think it's because 'Winchester' has been widely panned. Good films still get large audiences, as the increasing number of movies raking in over $1 billion worldwide shows. |

Pacific Rim: Uprising was silly fun (I haven't seen the first film), A Wrinkle in Time I found to be rather twee and Witherspoon was OTT in it (the child actors were better than the adults). My favourite recent film would probably be Unsane, which was shot just using an iphone 7!
I am seeing Ready Player One later and have no intention of watching Peter Rabbit, which looks awful. |

I think their is going to be a follow up as they track down the murderer.
I would have liked the film to have been a little longer to allow the racist cop to go through more before joining forces.
Still excellent. |

Ready Player One is probably my film of the year so far. It's a thrill ride with so many cultural references that it will need to be seen many times before there's even a chance of capturing them all. In essence, it's a quest story, with some Avatar and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory elements (amongst others) thrown in. The scenes referencing in great (and authentic) detail an almost 40-year old horror classic are some of the best I have seen in quite a while. The music is also good and any movie that includes Blue Monday gets my vote. Recommended. |

"Unsane. Weird film but it was ok. "
I'm torn about this one. It looks like it might be standard mental health asylum horror film dressed up as something else.

The trailer looks like it's going to be a weepy. The last one I cried at was Wonder.

Cardboard is for amateurs. They stopped at pets at home and borrowed some real ones. |

Florida Project
Great film, following a brief period in a little girls life, living a white trash existence basically, in a motel near disneyland.
Brilliant little indie piece. Stars Willem Dafoe as the motel owner |
