the 1st time you have to download it it has to be done via itunes 10.5.. after that then any updates can be done via wifi |

there are major problems with the update,the servers cannot handle the amount of people updating,it will wipe old softwere but cannot speak to the apple servers to upload new,anyone thinking about updating i would wait a while as i am now without a phone!! |

actually 1 thing i will mention at this stage... ios 5 seems to be about 300mb larger than ios 4 so if you are a bit tight on space.. you are going to have to factor in for this... |

updated both the iphone4 and ipad in less then an hour all working perfectly was no hassle whatsoever top notch download and having previously been a blackberry fan converting to a macbook pro at xmas an iphone 4 in feb and the ipad in may wont ever ever ever go back to anything else again.

I tried earlier and it said 7 hours remaining... thought eff that! Just tried again and it said 36mins remaining... much better! fingers crossed it won't kill my phone!  |

Those of us who might use our iPhones to take naughty photos ... remember that the new 'Photostream' feature is switched on by default - every picture you take gets uploaded automatically to the iCloud servers and copied on to your computer etc ... I think I'll be switching that straight off! |
