A world of my own |
I work for a charity. Funding is constantly being cut. I earn a pittance but I care about the people we help. I'm incredibly proud of the fact every day my sole purpose is to make things better for our service users.
I'd be thrilled to see corporate companies doing more to help without needing the fanfare that they seem to want when they do or only helping the best known organisations.
I left financial services 9 years ago. I earnt 3 times what I do now. While I miss the money I love knowing I help people.
It's great you feel proud and I hope they do some good with some of their profits. |

The best bit about my job is the people I work with. It can also be the worst!
I’m not naive enough not to realise (oops a double negative there!) that as soon as my economic worth to the company has expired then I’ll be callously discarded, so my job is a means to an end so that I can afford to live and enjoy myself in my free time.
