I usually set after a day on my feet. Do you have to wear safety shoes? I do as I'm a chef, I wear the boots they seem to help a bit. They aren't steel toe caps they are made from carbon or really hard plastic I think so not quite so heavy on the feet |

Ahhh that's a difficult one.
You could try having 2 different pairs of shoes and changing them halfway through your shift.
Otherwise you need to cut your hours down sorry |

The suggestion of good insoles and socks is probably the easiest one to try, a lot of supermarkets have scholl gel insoles, which I had in a pair of boots when I was on my feet all day, and they helped a lot. Hiking socks are great too! |

Try some ankle exercises on the train - flex your foot back & forth (flat to pointed) also make a circular motion with your foot - keeps the ankle mobile & helps with the circulation to stop your joints seizing up x |

I was just going to say the same as _orticia. Your ankles may stiffen I'd your not moving the joint enough. Also happens with other joints.
Staying flexible is good! |

"I was advised to take glucosamine for my joints. I have osteoarthritis and my ankles stiffen up too.
Googleing glucosamine "
You can get it with cod liver oil, which is supposed to be good for joints too. The rheumatology department advised me to take glucosamine. |

Seeside.
I can sympathise.
I am Diabetic T2 and when on Security or in Hotel Reception work, the worst area for health issues was my feet.
Then I discovered Insoles. Not the wafer thin Scholl type but the Gel Insoles.
There are various types and in my opinion, try the Brand of Air Plus. They do a range for both men and women, but go for the heavy duty Men's Sport version.
They last ages, took the stress and strain out of my feet, even in safety footwear. My feet medical issues have stopped totally and my GP's over the past 3-4 years now swear it was down to these insoles.
I have tried the Scholl versions but they aren't so hard wearing!
I will PM you with a known stockist. |

Look at magnum safety boots, very light, ankle support, steel and composite toe cap and midsole. Admittedly they are a bit more expensive than most, but worth every penny. |

correct if you're self employed ... if you are cards in with the agency (ie they deduct NI payments from your wages) then they are obliged to supply your ppe |

It's worth thinking about as every employer has Duty of Care responsibilities to adhere to.
Have they considered anti fatigue matting for floors for instance? I know of some Kitchens where these have been supplied with successful results.
As for supplying your own PPE, that seems odd; most companies supply for their staff. |

Further to my posting a few minutes ago, if you are paid via an agency and their Payroll dept sorts out your Tax & NI, supplying you with pay slips weekly or monthly, then they are your employer. They are then responsible for your PPE, well being and so on. The client to which you're booked out to has a duty of care towards you as well.
