I just had a horrible uncomfortable journey on a packed train home
Not only was it delayed and stinky - the bloke next to me had his legs spread so wide that I had to perch on the end of the seat
I was to scared to ask him to budge up
Men do you do this... |

"Or putting your bag on the seat next to you. Grrrr"
This is really annoying too - or even worse when your stood up and someone is wearing a giant backpack

I can understand why you didn’t ask him to move but we shouldn’t be afraid to ask antisocial or selfish twats to sort themselves out on public transport.
Yesterday a bloke had his bag next to him on the last empty seat on the train and I told him to move it as my companion wanted to sit.
Up until that point everybody had avoided causing a scene so were all prepared to stand rather than say anything! Why!?! |

"It’s very rude of him, but take a brave pill and ask him to keep to his seat. You’ll be pleased you did, honestly "
It was a scary giant hooded "yoof"
He looked like he might punch me if I asked |

On a crowded train? No chance. I know it feels like everyone looks at their shoes to avoid a scene but a bloke punching someone for being asked to move won’t happen.
Perhaps he was having problems with the swelling after his last session ran out of lube, but he was still rude to take up that much space |

This pisses me off as well, and I don't exactly have a large arse lol
And then there are the one's that take up two seats with their bag! I'm always tempted to ask if they have paid for two seats? But I do sometimes target them to just bloody shift |

I got on the bus to work the other day & a young child had her school bag on the seat next to her. Nobody would ask her to move it, so I did.
She just looked at me, so I moved it onto her lap and sat down.
She didn’t say anything and then about five minutes later she asked me if I wanted to listen to her read her book
I said yes, and she read her Biff & Kipper book to me, with a bit of help from me |

I’ve had the same. I was at an event last year that was televised on national TV and I was in the same situation with a numpty doing that in the seat next to me. I only didn’t say anything to him because cameras were everywhere.
On a train I would say ‘budge up dear I can’t get on this seat’ and smile at him. |

I see men do it. When I've space around me I notice I naturally adopt the typical Kevin the Teenager position of legs apart and almost reaching to the opposite seat. I don't appear very slouched, but I think those seats kind of encourage me to slip down slightly. I don't sit that way in my chair at work or home, so I don't get it.
I don't remain like that when others get on board though. It's just not very courteous is it? In any case when the train gets packed I often end up giving away me seat to someone who needs it more. |
