Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's brilliant! Just go and see it.

As origin stories go, this one has invested in depth. The action is a little giddy-making but it is engaging and the new toys are fun. It's also funny.

There's also no other film where the teenagers end up referring to a minority lead character (Martin Freeman) as 'the White guy'.

I'm trying very hard not to give any spoilers away.

I loved the geeky/techy character and the relationship with the lead.

There's always a danger, isn't there. I didn't go to see The Dark Tower as I knew it couldn't live up to The Gunslinger.

I'm less invested in Marvel, just dip in and out, which has made it easier to do the films. If they're not up to much I just write it off and if they're good, as this one is, then I've got a new franchise to watch.

I might go and see it in that case. I usually despise Marvel films because the characters are so one-dimensional (in spite of them being "sold" as complex), and the plots are always broadly similar - "Threat to US free market capitalism is dystopian nightmare bent on the end of the world"...

Go, if only for us to have a conversation on whether the plot is different and the complexity of the characters.

Saw it Tuesday night

When Chadwick was announced as black

Panther a few years back I was under wealmed

However after civil war, and black panther he carries it off so well! He has the panthers regality, a bit of arrogance.

I love Michael b Jordan as kilmonger, and loved him in creed

Shiri and the dorna rocked as well

For me it was a game changer for the marvel universe. To have a HUGE Hollywood film produced, directed, written and produced by a person of colour, it is what wonder woman done for women.

It’s 2nd of highest marvel opening in the uk - behind age of Ultron. World wide it’s 5th biggest opening

That's not bad. I'd have like it to be a bit higher worldwide but it's high enough for it not to be dismissed. I hope they get the next right so that the franchise holds its own and this isn't seen as a fluke.

Age of ultron and Thor Ragnorok were outstanding but Black Panther definitely tops the list at the minute.

I thought it was cracking! Did a really good job of building a new world and separating its self from the franchise! I hope I wasn't the only person who thought the CGI was a little bit janky hah.

I'd almost given up on Marvel becoming predictable until Thor Ragnarok (a pleasant surprise of a film with a great 80's feel to it) but blown away by the difference in Black Panther. A film with substance, that can combine fantasy with modern themes, and not too reliant on huge OTT fight scenes.

However the standout of the film is the female cast, the actual "superhero" pales in comparison to them! Strong, independent, smart and not reliant on their looks or womanly charms to fight. About time Marvel really stepped into the 21st Century and gives us a female superhero film. While DC films have not lived up to Marvel (in my own opinion) they have at least given us the kick ass female superhero film (which happens to be the best Justice League film so far).

And lastly not forgetting Marvels first black Superhero....Blade!!

Marvel certainly like their sequels and given the record breaking success of this one I'd be surprised if they didn't make one. However the end credits only say Black Panther will return in Infinity War which wasn't a surprise anyway. Every Marvel character and his dog looks to be in Infinity War

already watched it for free but its not a good one yet

as goes for infinity war it better be better than most in my eyes alot of the sci fi films war scenes have been really crap

that includes the doctor who dalek war dismal isnt the word

babylon 5 war poor

even stargate war was poor could have been better

stargate atlantis war brought a good amount back

dark matter war also has a good battle scenes so far

serenity had a decent battle

Saw it Monday, loved it! It wasn’t another Super Hero film set in America with a cookie cutter cast. But a film that took risks with its actors and give viewer really strong inspirational female characters. The villains were actually interesting and had motives. Plus Kendrick Lamar’s soundtrack is great!
