Two failed marriages, after getting to know both of them, so who knows, could be the way forward, a friend of mine is celebrating 25 years of marriage this year, an arranged marriage, his mom and dad did know best

No chance.

If I'd have left it to a programme like that I have no doubt myself and husband wouldn't have ever been paired together.

We're complete opposites and in theory probably shouldn't be compatible, but 17 years later going strong.

No, I wouldn't. I would never do reality tv anyway but there are some things that I think shouldn't be used to entertain others.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I always get sucked into this programme and following the stories. I'll be tuning in, rather than trying to catch-up half way through, this time.

I have thought about it. It is highly unlikely I'll ever marry so this could be the way. The only thing that puts me off is the leaving your home and moving in together for a month.

I'd never do it, no.

But I do love watching the show. Marc and I watch it in every country they've done it in (the UK, US, New Zealand, Australia). The differences in how each country does it are as interesting as the premise.

Not with those muppets picking my partner! They are awful at it.

It was much longer....more involved. That's what I thought anyway. They did one in NYC a while back. I'm in the middle of this year's and it's in Boston.

An ex of mine escaped an arranged marriage and run off with her English guy wgo was her teen romance. They married young for love and it crashed and burnt a few years later bitterly. Her brother went on with an arranged marriage with a girl from India. She turned out to be a lazy entitaled tool who doesnt lift a finger or help with the family buisness that supports her. Her brother is not happy too and the only thing that keeps them together is traditional values and stigma. Seems like you can't win either way.

I really hope it's a lasting chemistry and they find things they like about each other over and above how attractive they are.

This is for real?

People are willing to legally marry a stranger to get on TV?

Not a chance I would do that.

I think I'm the same - I'd do it but am not really the producer's idea of show material. Perhaps it could be organised off-air.

"Science can't fix your demons. "

No it can't. I watched this yesterday with a kind of fascinated horror.

Why are these people willing to lay themselves bare like this for entertainment purposes and why are the "experts" supporting it?

The dark haired guy who seems to resent his wife getting on with his friends and the blonde woman unwilling to compromise. It just seems awful to me.

I know the answer is to not watch again so I won't

Is it that they are willing to do this for entertainment or because we are bludgened by society with the myth that we will never be happy unless we are with our "soul mate"? I wouldn't want to get with someone that was that desperate to be part of a couple I don't even think I would want to date someone that was on a dating site for that reason.

I honestly don't know. Could it be the "Big Brother" effecting mean the tv show rather the book where people think it's ok to play out the most intimate details of their life in public?
