"Come on ladies does the Yorkshire accent do it for you xx"
I'm ex hull but would say our accent is far different from Bradford. Or Leeds etc mine is still broad Yorkshire but with a slight Scots twang also ,when I come back to hull to visit family I notice a huge difference in our accents |

"There’s still massive variation within yorkshire as its such a big area. I don’t think North Yorkshire has much of an accent. West is very broad. Hull is quite unique with certain words. "
Yes I still miss patties ,never found them any but hull with scraps of course |

I grew up in east Yorkshire but worked in Hull for six years, then Leeds for two years and now south Yorkshire for the last three, as well as living in York for the last five years. I've got a right mongrel accent and use a lot of sayings from all over Yorkshire and the North East. |

Yep and plenty more where they came from! I felt like I was from another planet when I moved to London. Different words, different number for speaking clock and directory enquiries! The funniest was finding out that the past tense of ‘to treat’ is not treat (say it in the way of meet/met). My teachers clearly never knew it was treated ![](/icons/s/rolleyes.gif) |

Hmmm I've lived in the north east for 18 months and the Darlonian accent is crap. Some of the Yorkshire accents aren't too bad
Struggle to understand some of what's said still tho |

Well we are from Doncaster... We don't think we have much of an accent really but when we went to meet friends in Gloucester they couldn't believe the different words we use and how we pronounce things so differently . It was the same when we went to Devon/ Cornwall too .Xx |
