what will you do tomorrow (Monday, in case you need reminding, lol... to make things better, more light hearted, more fun...) Whether you are at work, at home, doing a voluntary job... it does not matter. I believe in trying to be positive |

Every day and whatever I do I try to be a nice and decent person, to help people when I can and a smile to a stranger does make you feel good! You don't have to do something massive in order to make a difference. Z |

I'll try to make a go of my new job I started a few weeks ago.
It's tough going; I speak to some right sods of customers, others who are so nice, but my best was my last call of the day on Friday evening to a lady aged 82.
She couldn't place an order as she couldn't see the catalogue pages. She is almost blind with a degenerative illness that has caught up with her over the years; she has about a month, maybe two months sight time left.
I was able to connect her to our Customer Services section who could give her all the help, but before I handed her over to them, I was struck by her lack of self pity, that she had accepted her lot, and in her own words, "it's just one of these things that strike you as you get old and you just get on with it! It's life!"
If only a few more people thought the same way, instead of griping or whingeing over nothing!
She truly made me feel very humble that evening! |

She truly made me feel very humble that evening!" That I call genuine empathy - it is the kind of thing hat leaves a really nice warm feeling for the person who was able to help. Well done to you |
