Dreaded time of the year when my contract is due to end and therefore i can upgrade.

Question is folks - Samsung S2 or iPhone4s

truth be told all i want to do is be able to text and make calls and upload photo's to facebook for free (ideally it would have some kind of ap that i could do that) also the camera has to be good :D

If you have either a Samsung s2 or iphone already all feedback will be gratefully received xx

Samsung Galaxy s2...Android pisses over the Iphone, which ties you in to apple stuff far to much

Dont buy one cos they are 'it'...do your homework first.

Never mind Iphone. too dear and too many restrictions. Lool at an HTC with android system. Some run windows as well so easy for email etc.

I recommend calling into a phone shop for a little trial of any phone that takes your fancy.

if your phone already does what you need it to do then you could save money by downgrading the deal and keeping your phone.

i have the iphone 4... and have not had any problems... the most interesting thing about the 4s is going to be "siri"... but I don't know if i would use it enough to justify upgrading....

if you want cold hard facts...

text... going to be the same for both...

calls... I would possibly wait a week to see if any reception issues come up with the 4s.. like they did with the 4 (i have had no issues with mine, but can't believe they would get it wrong twice)

camera... specs wise it is going to be slightly better on the 4s, plus if you are going to use the hd video option, with the imovie app it should be fantastic...

wildcard.... iphone 4s has siri which is the voice automated assistant, if it works well it should be interesting...

as long as you are not planning on going to the states/caribbean/japan in the next two years..... the iphone 4s will work there, whereas your s2 would be a bit patchy..

Used to have the Galaxy S - swapped it for an iPhone 4 cos it was crap... battery only lasts about 3 mins and the satnav doesn't work properly.

Straight outta the box the iPhone works a treat and the battery life is great... don't believe all the "tied in Apple" stuff... most of what you need is built in (email, t'internet etc.) and Twitter, Facebook etc. are all free from iTunes.

I'm 100% happy with my iPhone.

I've had my iphone4 for 14months and I've got to say I'm in love (sad I know ).

Upsides: the camera is ace... the available apps are ace... I'm a technophobe but I find the phone easy-peasy to navigate around... I've never ever had the phone crash on me

Downsides: the battery life isn't the best (probably because I am always using the bloody thing lol)... the network signal isn't the strongest either so you you'll need to check coverage is good for your area (but a good signal = crystal clear clarity)... you can't use flashplayer

I haven't the foggiest what the other phone is like though

Had an iPhone 4 for 7 months, and not a single negative to report. Great for web browsing, facebook and everything else.

I'd check out the other phone's.. I've never been an iphone fan... To be fair my htcs have always just been better.. every new one that comes out I keep hoping I will like it.. but no..

Much prefer the android phones... But I always do lots of research first... There are some great new ones about to come out... Make sure you get one with the dual processor...

Android all the way here after seeing the problems that our daughter has had with an iphone 4! she is on her third and to be fair, Apple have changed them without hassle, but trip to the iphone shop every 6 weeks is even getting too much for our "fashionista".

Also, Siri? Is that a voice activated phone control? If it is then my HTC already has it! It also uses Flash" for websites so ALL websites come up normal, not just the ones that Apple want you to view!

Too much reliablility on Apple products and apps must all be approved so some that are available on Android will not be on iphone. You can get the phone effectively unlocked to use non Apple stuff, but it will invalidate the warranty and looking at our daughters experience...

These days to, the iphone always seems to be playing catchup. The 4s has finally go a half decent camera and can now at least do HD video, but HTC has been doing that for a while now.

BUT.. Whatever you decide, for ffs, don't get a windows phone!!

We have had all the above in this house, what with kids and all that.

and we all agree the iphone is the daddy.

At the end of day you get what you pay for.

oh and the samsung 2s spends most of its time on charge, waste of space!
