Ash is a colloquial northern term for beef stew, not to be confused with corned beef hash (also delicious). Chunks of beef, potatoes, onions and root vegetables are slow cooked until they begin to fall into the water, serve with dumplings or over pancakes. For that extra authenticity apply a liberal splash of Henderson's Relish. Yum. |
