I’m sorry but I’m not attracted to black guys. It just doesn’t do it for me.... I can’t explain it I just don’t find you attractive. I get asked this all the time and I’m tired of explain myself. Anyone else feel the same ?

Ffs!..are you being serious?..

I'll give you the fab answer first..

EVERYONE is entitled to say who they do or do not fancy, it's free speech and personal preference.

Secondly...just do a search on BBC lovers etc. You'll find a treasure trove of women who do like black men.

I'm guessing, one woman you like doesn't want to have sex with a black man, deal with it instead of having a go at people's preferences.

I'm not attracted to black women.... just my personal choice..... as it is with women that don't find black guys attractive.

They shouldn't have to justify themselves just so you can satisfy you curiosity..... a no is a no at the end of the day.

Very true, there's a tonne of women that have "only vwe black men". I've read before "white guys don't even bother" etc.. If you're not someone's cup of tea that's it. There's guys that only like blonde girls too. Some people just have a certain type (even if that's weird to me)

Careful...they aren't "reasonable" questions, it's just reasonable to ask why some women don't fancy black men apparently.

Okay, seeing as you’re absolutely clear.

Is OP saying that “he” doesn’t like black men, or that he is often answered that when he approaches others as a response (I query which from the use of the word question and no clarity as to who is speaking in his OP initial sentence/s, and is he tired of explaining why or who, and do we feel the same as who - someone saying they don’t like black men or someone hearing it or what?

And you might be disappointed with my response re your “you’re not allowed to say you don’t like or fancy black men” comment, I’m of the group that challenge where sexual preference comes from and sexual prejudice or ... dare I say it racism! You wouldn’t agree, I guess from your initial response to OP as you’re unhappy with the potential question even being asked!

However, first of all I’d like to ensure I understand the first post.

some profiles and photos dont do that for me and its not the ethnicity or religion

like in a club.pub, shop if someone comes and talks to me and they ask me for my number or a date and im not attracted i will say no thanks.

How about you explain it terms that actually have proper definitions then? Pretty much every attraction can be explained in psychology from indications of fitness to social desirability.

what bugs me is when people ask WHY

this is sex and fun. why would i want someone i didnt find attractive inside me or kissing me.

many people say its just sex lighten up. i know what i like and my type and i like good chemistry and connection and banter

some men just think its a free sex hook ups it and women should accept it

(not all men btw)

for every person that isn't i am sure you can find someone that is.....

so MAYBE the question should be

"why are people so fixated about the people who don't want them, rather than concentrate on the people who do?"

it's like people just the challenge of trying to chase those that aren't changing so alluring...

me... i'd call that a waste of no ones time but your own!

I’ve no idea why I feel the way I feel about a lot of things. Lack of empathy, comes from a broken home, struggling for social acceptance, dropped on my head, too many drugs or maybe I’m just a freak! Who gives a toss?

All I know is that I don’t really know or care why someone doesn’t like me, I’m not gonna change their mind and there’s plenty of other girls in the world. I’d rather concentrate on the ones that do.

So true! And it's not just set at those parameters, I have a guy that I used to meet that turned into a total cunt (not a word I like or use lightly) and because I have refused to meet again, he is pursuing me like a dog on heat! It seems some just like the challenge of acceptance, rather than just accepting the situation

If I very rarely find black men attractive is that racist? Is it also racist if I can't remember the last time I looked at a short white male with blonde hair and a baby face and thought phwoar?

I tend to be attracted to tall, dark, rugged looking men and I'm sure there will be some wannabe psychologist with a theory behind that but based on looks alone attraction is out of my control! Does it mean I specify only brunettes or only Caucasian? No, because maybe one day Fab will have a Michael B Jordon or Chris Pine lookalikes

If this drags on past the point of "you can't control what you're attracted to" then it's pointless. If someone doesn't fancy black men 99% of the time it's because she doesn't fancy black men. Remember even racist slave owners fuck slave girls and their wives fucked black men. Those guys were racist yet still attracted to black people. You can't force attraction on people. Anyway everyone move over to my new thread "why don't women like short guys with small dicks? I'm sorry but they have yo explain themselves to me, are they sizist?"

No you actually hit the nail on the head with your distinction "very rarely". If you like tall, rugged, hairy guys then the probability is that you won't end up marrying a chinese guy. However some Chinese are tall, rugged and hairy.

"Ffs!..are you being serious?..

I'll give you the fab answer first..

EVERYONE is entitled to say who they do or do not fancy, it's free speech and personal preference.

Secondly...just do a search on BBC lovers etc. You'll find a treasure trove of women who do like black men.

I'm guessing, one woman you like doesn't want to have sex with a black man, deal with it instead of having a go at people's preferences."

And you guessed wrong

His question was "does anyone else feel the same?" his scenario was - - he asked loads of women if they fancied getting together and some said "no I don't fancy black guys". The answer is harsh but its more or less the same thing as "you're not my type" when I ask why I'm turned down. They for some reason go into more detail for some black guys. Does it mean they're racist cause they don't find black people attractive? Definitely no. Do you want them to be known as racists? Sounds like you do.

I think sexuality is almost a protected sphere of autonomy where people are permitted to be racist or other ist you care to mention.

Thus if I said if I refused to socialise with black people and that was my preference, everyone would say I was an appalling bigot. Say I refuse to have sex with people, and that is my preference and that tends to be accepted.

Everyone does indeed have the right to sexual autonomy, but if you have a blanket exclusion of a certain ethnicity because you are not attracted to them, then that lack of attraction is probably based on racist assumptions. Nothing you can do about it perhaps, but healthy to recognize it I think.

Let's see, racism is bad and I'm a good person; so i can't be racist. Not even a little bit because it's only other people that are racist. There are only two categories of people, the white hood wearing racists and the rest of us who walk around with glowing halo's over our heads. Now since we've established i can't be racist, how is it that i have a racist preference? Hmmm.... fuck that's a tricky one... Maybe if i just call it a preference instead of a racist preference then people won't notice.

I have pointed out elsewhere that we all have prejudices in some areas and the start of wisdom is to recognise them and, where they are unjustifiable, try to overcome them.

One bloke very strongly asserted HE DID NOT have any prejudices...

I like all kinds of men and women, I find Idris Elba attractive for example but would I fuck him? No because I’m not sexually attracted to him (it might be different if I met him of course) but on the same coin, I find channing tatum attractive but I’m not sexually attracted to him.

The world is a big place and had I have been single and found a ‘black person’ both attractive and sexually attractive then I would take it further but I’m not single. If we found a black woman attractive and we both were sexually attracted to her then of course we would take it further.

Some people have their likes and dislikes, some like bald people, some don’t, some like gingers and some don’t, that’s not to say that all bald people or all gingers are unattractive or not sexually attractive it’s just down to personal choice.

It’s bonkers isn’t it?

It's as if the answer to the question is making some people feel uncomfortable...

Ok what's the non-racist explanation for a blanket exclusion of racial groups? Other than "just because" or "preference".

It’s a preference and I don’t want to think further, I am not pandora and I am not opening my box!

I'd say there is another form of racism on here that you haven't mentioned, but someone did earlier and nobody really commented on it.. I'd agree with her.. but I'm too busy meekly eating popcorn. Hmmm I wonder how my kiss, fuck, avoid friends are doing?

I love this question and the responses are always quality! We're so funny judging others for their preference, or the fact that some people really don't like the certain tones of colour on their men or women. If you feel the need to slag someone off for them stating a preference then you prob shouldn't be on this site as it's full of it! With some pretty weird justifications. However to just dismiss an entire race is questionable. Think about what you're saying and why. You can't justify it as being taste without there being a reason. I could give you a detailed analysis if the things I like on a women so that's taste and I can explain myself. I can also tell you what I don't like and explain the reasons why. If you've never looked at Beyoncé or any other fine looking black person and thought they were attractive then that's pretty strange don't you think?

"Thus if I said if I refused to socialise with black people and that was my preference, everyone would say I was an appalling bigot. "

That answer is also rubbish. There are a number of groups in society I choose not to socialise with. I avidly avoid political rallies, avoid most church groups, and many others.

That's not to say individuals from those groups couldn't impress me enough to become a personal associate. But avoiding those groups does not make me a bigot.

I agree. I think it’s an interesting area of discussion and starts by being able to be conscious of our own inherent prejudices (not suggesting we act them out into discriminatory acts, but we all have prejudices based on intrinsic and extrinsic factors). And I’m certainly not suggesting that everyone must force themselves to sleep with everyone - as is so often the retort one gets! But interesting to think, learn and educate about where attraction can be influenced sometimes without one being cognitively aware. Fascinating subject.

“Preference” can often be a thin veil for explicit racism too though. But tell nobody!!

The answer might be...

All people of sub Saharan African descent have certain physical characteristics in common : dark skin, flat noses, curly hair and so on and in combination I find those physical characteristics unattractive.

As you say, that sounds pretty racist...

But I am talking about a conscious refusal to socialise with people of a certain ethnic origin. I presume we agree that would be bigoted.

"Thus if I said if I refused to socialise with black people and that was my preference, everyone would say I was an appalling bigot.

Seriously? You are saying that someone who refused to associate with black people would not be a bigot?

There is a difference between choosing not to, and just not doing. Stretching my memory, I don't think I have spent any part of my life socialising with any one of Chinese origin. Is it more racist that I know none or if I were to seek some out to tick a box?

No it's just racist if you are closed to the potential to socialise with them on account of their race. "

Why is this such a hard concept for people? Genuinely, why?!

It’s bonkers isn’t it?

It's as if the answer to the question is making some people feel uncomfortable...

Ok what's the non-racist explanation for a blanket exclusion of racial groups? Other than "just because" or "preference".

Their appearances in general are different. Attraction in the most cases is physical.

Yeah and not just in China. whilst I was in Vietnam a few of the locals made funny comments about all white actors looking the same. They got Mel Gibson confused with George clooney and matt Damon. Kept looking at me and saying "Mel Gibson?" I was thinking how the fuck do you know Mel Gibson and not Ghandi or Nelson Mandela?

People is just people, but unfamiliar groups be that ethnic, political, age, they can be excluded on mass because it's easier than getting into the group. Some who exclude the mass will be racist, others not.

A site like this is not a good indicator of racism or preference. Especially amongst single women who have choices of dozens who fit their preference so exclude all others to save time.

And all this because the straight male OP doesn't fancy black men...
