People just reaching out to find friends with similar tastes

Had a guy message me asking if interested in becoming friends no agenda he wasn't gay but looking for people with a mutual liking who wanted to meet couples and singles ladies as friends ,so I'm wondering if this seems strange or has anyone else been approached like this and did it go any further

Never had that before but why not friends are friends no matter what sex they are!

If you did decide to meet would probably treat it as a normal meet though make sure genuine and they are not an axe murderer

I'm just wary I know some ladies want to meet guys who are mates for group fun and it would be mutually beneficial but at same time I'm not sure

I have had a similar message, basically a wing man for fab purposes. I politely declined.
