Does my head in too.
Im a responsible dog owner and always bin the mess.
Some bags are biodegradable but still should be binned in my book.
What the tree thing is about I have no idea. |

"Or throw it on the ground. If you're going to do that you might as well not bother bagging it, it'll degrade faster."
if we see one on the ground, we do pick it up even though it's not ours, draw the line at climbing trees though |

I really don't understand the logic behind the shit in the trees thing.
What part of "Oh yes let's fling a bag of dog shit into a tree" sounds like a good idea?
Some people are just too dumb to be allowed pets. |

This really pisses me off and keeps me extremely busy.
The normal excuses are, that there were no dog bins - well guess what there’s a fucking huge bin at your house.
They didn’t know, ignorance isn’t an excuse, and tbh unless your walking through a forestry commission run park, everybody knows to pick it up.
Problem is, that’s it’s left when nobody is around because the idol bastards can get away with it. Councils do spend lots n lots of money trying to reduce it, but the age old methods are not working; signs, bins and leaflet drops.
And it is quite seasonal soon as autumn and winter kick in the problem gets worse. |

Yes I've noticed this. As soon as there are dark evenings and morning the buggers can get away with it easier.

Out for a walk along a seaside town prom last Sunday, was disgusted by the amount of mess left by the dogs, and their owns
No doubt they thought that they would not get caught leaving it,as local council probably had no staff whos job it is to issue on the spot fines for this (unless those checking the tickets in carpark do this too ?)working Sundays ?!
Got me thinking that maybe instead of a fine, the dog was 'confiscated' for a period 48hrs maybe, and the costs of kennels, food etc also passed on to those who leave the mess, after all any caring dog lover would not want their pet taken away |

I see it in my area, bags hanging in trees. I know this sounds like I'm a nutter but I pick up all the poo left on the paths I walk my dog on every day. One day I picked up 26 bags on one stretch of the field. It's utterly disgusting that you are walking on a farmers property or a public place and just leave it.
I know the local dog warden. One man against thousands of offenders. People have no respect for their surroundings.
And, don't get me started on the litter....... |

There is a fine, a fixed penalty notice usually around £75, however the chances of catching somebody not picking up is slim, as most KNOW that it should be removed. Again, they do it when nobody is looking, most people will challenge somebody who doesn’t pick it up. Some councils use dna testing, but to be honest the cost of this is around £2.5k so when you compare that to the fine, it’s not cost efficient |

Wow! Hats off to you! I pick up my own dogs, but not anyone else's. Nothing more hideous than picking up cold pooh!
You are a better person than me, by far... |
