I was watching this ad from last year-

It's about looking for the things that bond us rather than those which tear us apart.
It got me thinking about how we make assumptions about people based on basic information or a slight insight online.
What 3 labels do you think others would give you around here? Do you feel affiliated with the others in those groups?
What 3 labels would you prefer to have? What boxes do you think fitting into would help you find the people you'd like to meet? Is 3 enough? |

Labels I think would be given to me?
Dull, harmless, tolerable.
What I would prefer?
Amusing, harmless, different (in a good way).
Desireable, intellectual, unconventionally attractive would also work |

I'm not a fan of labels so hopefully none apply to me but I'm sure others have different ideas but as a lifestyle we are regarded as non conformists ,so as a confident person ,a good person and a gent I really don't care what others think of me or whether I fit in but would always attempt to be mannerable to others ,would hate to think I've been categorised as a white male perv but if someone did refer to me as that I could take it  |

Difficult to say as different people will say different things depending on what they see and how much they’ve got to know me.
I’m a joker to some, a knob to others
A friend to some, an irrelevance to others
Deep to some, superficial to others
Trustworthy to some, devious to others
Confident to some, lacking self esteem to others
and so it goes on
I find boxes constraining so I try not to get buried alive in one

I'd say I was polite, funny (big ISH on that one) and charming.
Id say others see me as a boring old cunt (see what I did there)
Actually to quantify the above, I'm longwinded and often use outdated language, I hardly know my lol from  .  |

I hate labels no matter how much of a useful shorthand they may be. They lead to us being put in boxes where much of what others remember are the labels and the complexity of us is somehow lost a little.
I really don't know how to label myself in three words...
I do know whatever labels I attach to me are totally meaningless...
It's what others see in me...
Or don't see in me....that's the important thing.
And I know that what others see is sadly often not enough....
Especially in those people who matter to me...
I think it's time to go back to the man cave. |
