Last June I went to London to purchase a pair of irregular choice shoes for the wedding something I have been wanting for years (we won’t mention the near £400 I also spent on make up that day too ahem!) but sadly I had to sell them as we needed the money (my idea, I insisted, Ads tried putting his foot down but didn’t listen to him).
I sold them and I said to the lady could she do me one favour and wear them on the day of our wedding so they will get worn on the day they were intended for, the lady messages me and asks if she could send them back to me for me to wear on the day, I sold them over four months ago and she remembered me.
I’m so touched and blown away at the same time, there are some brilliant people out there!!

"Sorry to put a downer on all this, but why would you spend money on a pair of shoes that you quite obviously couldn't really afford? "
You didn't. No wait. You DID. You publicly challenged a lady to justify the necessity of a shoe purchase.
I wish you the very best of luck.

Good question, at the time yes we could afford them (and the make up) it was money we had saved hard for the wedding but unfortunately life throws curve balls at you and you have to adapt and make changes, instead of falling into debt, I decided to sell my shoes, does this answer you question? No doubt there will be others lol x |

If you read the whole thread. She explains she bought them in anticipation of her wedding, and at that time, she could afford them. Then things when t*ts up, so she sold them |

As previously stated at the time they were bought we could afford them! Later in the year we had a financial blip so Geeky sold her shoes in order to repair her car, despite me telling her not to. So no we’re not living beyond our means just sometimes things more important than a pair of shoes so sacrafices were made (against my wishes)

"Im still having a lie-down to recover from the 400 quid on make-up "
Yeah I saved long and hard for that, it was a complete indulgence, I’ve never spent that much money before. I could have spent over £500 but put loads back. Well about 4 things lol. All bills were paid at the time, we had food in the cupboard etc etc, we had back up savings but were a tad short when I had to sell them as my car needed a lot of work, obviously I couldn’t tell my make up...it makes my face look soooo pretty!! (It’s the first time I’ve seen ads kinda go red and go ‘right’ through gritted teeth when I told him how much...I got a free bag and coasters pahaha!!).
Thank you for all the lovely comments and the two asking why I bought them and then having to sell them, life changes no matter how many plans you have in place.
Xx |

Because they are unique I guess, can you buy a pair of high heels with r2d2 ornaments as the heel elsewhere? Or light up Cinderella shoes? (Well I think you can lol), the boxes alone are worth money! They have a Mickey and Minnie Mouse range. Stars Wars range. Cinderella etc, when they were released the I was about 700 in the queue online!! Not as though my fat hooves can fit in them. Xx |

They are beautiful and unique, I wear them most days, and I never fail to get some comments on them. We have a new man in our team and he always stops me to admire my shoes, if I wasn't so obsessed with them I'd find it odd, but I'll indulge him

My house is a 'work in progress' it's a total fixer upper.
My room will be the last done, but I've already decided the recess that goes over the stairs will make an ideal place to have a display case built |

If I could, I’d go round in bare feet or flip flops at the most. |

It’s not cheap! Normally I buy the cheapest going but as i’d saved hard I decided to indulge. It’s a brand called benefit and it’s lush but expensive, £25 for a mascara lol x |

"Im still having a lie-down to recover from the 400 quid on make-up "
Lol. In the late ‘80’s a colleague (we were 21/22 at the time) went to Fraser’s for a lipstick. It cost her £15. Bearing in mind we were earning just over £4 per hour we thought that was a fortune to spend on a lippy. |
