Ex Libris is a game to challenge your literary acumen and test your creative writing skills. Each of the one hundred cards gives you the title, author and plot summary of a different novel or short story. At the start of a round, one player, taking turns as the reader, picks a card and reads it out. The other players then have to write a plausible opening or closing sentence to the work in an attempt to bluff fellow players into believing that their script is the genuine one. |

If I'm allowed to play fast and loose? - Dungeons & Dragons  It may be a bit of a geeks game, but if you can get a few non-geeks, creative, devious, intelligent, funny people to play.. the game will be funny, creative, devious and intelligent and... yes... Still a bit geeky...

Usually have 4 or 5 games on the go via the Scrabble app on my tablet/phone - while you can use Facebook to sign in to it you can also set up a standalone sign in. Best game score is 602 points 
Other favourites when I was younger include Risk, Trivial Pursuits (was unbeaten amongst my mates for years) and various others. |

The Great Game of Britain. Based on the pre Beeching rail network. Starting from London, each player visits 6 destinations and tries to get back first. Various hazards change journeys and the winner is never obvious until the very end. Lots of ganging up on the leader at the time you throw the dice. Supremely entertaining. |

Risk has come up a few times. But I hate the random factor. Diplomacy is a much better game, totally down to skill, subterfuge, and downright nastiness!
I loved Stratego as a kid. Played it endlessly with a couple of friends.
