Another brilliant weekend of six nations action is almost upon us and I for one can’t wait.
Ireland shall provide the usual spanking to Italy first then England Wales is a mouthwatering clash, glad we have home advantage as that should be the difference.
Sunday’s Scotland France game could be very entertaining as well, Scotland’s usual pre tournament confidence got well and truly poked up their jitters last week so they’re gonna be well up for it thus week against a French team that really should be showing a played 1 won 1 record so far !
Bring it on |

The HIA fiasco reminds me of why we have substitution at will; when I started playing you could only replace a player who was injures, but when players began tactically faking injuries (beyond the long-established "pulled muscle to get a few minutes' breather") it took a brave referee to say someone was fit to continue and risk getting sued come the subsequent serious injury. If people started taking HIs we are going to end up with interchanges, a la RL, rather than substitution at all levels (it's already a Thing below the Championship). This would, I feel, be a Bad Thing, but I think substitutions are also a Bad Thing so in this, as so much else, I suspect I'm swimming against the tide. |

Hmmm one does wonder!
After holding the airplane for 2 hours and questioning the players they concluded "no crime has been committed". Which seems slightly odd!
I wonder which bar it was... one of the pink triangle establishments maybe?

If you are looking at the footage at such a slow frame by frame speed you would also have seen that Stef Evans fingers did in fact brush the ball, which is then of course a knock on. So the TMO did get it wrong twice

The wales one I wouldn't give. To me it's not good enough to swat at the ball and claim downward pressure. But yeah the second English try I was convinced wasn't grownded! I don't recall seeing a slowmo. Would like too. I think the end result reflected the game. England Just did enough. Pretty much what I expected. Fans of both sides suggesting a massive win as we usually get before the game lol |

I don't... because if it had been the other way round there is no way uncle eddie wouldn't have gone about saying something till the end of the 6n's
i think that it is fair world rugby acknowledged the mistake... but then it was fair of wales gareth ainscombe to say that it wasn't the turning point in the game! |

see in a perfect world the ball should go down the middle... and then the hookers "hook" and it is a contest...
problem is that most of the time scrum halves don't and the feed the ball in crooked... its one of my pet peeves.... |

Scotland were simply brilliant.
If they could produce consistent performances like that they’d be up with the best teams in the world.
The better team won on the day.
The tournament is still very much alive for us English fans but it’s a huge ask and not entirely in our own hands.
As for the second hand chariot... I despise that song and always have, I also have absolutely no interest in prawn sandwiches !
I said before the tournament started, I honestly believe Fin Russell could be one of the greatest fly halves our games ever witnessed, I look forward to cheering him on in a British & Irish lions shirt.
Bring on the French... (who scare the fuck outta me ) |

can't believe there have been no mention on the thread of the unfortunate news that jamie heaslip has been forced to retire thru injury..... he was a rock in the ireland back row 3 and distinguished himself as a lion.......
shame.... have to say he was one of my favourite players.... as a former glory boy inside centre i don't normally give the boys up front the respect they probably deserve, but the man was a beast in the open! |

Ok, I thought he was much younger than 34.
Sadly, It’s pretty standard shelf life for a back row forward in the modern game.

True that, but still.. would liked to have seen more of him in green over the next couple of weeks. He’s very impressive. |

For the past 4 or 5 years the 6 Nations has become a pain is the arse, - well it has for this Irish fan watching from the edge of my seat.
must remember extra cushions.

Lucky you.
.....that makes today's game even more important then!!
I'll take a one point win - but something far less painful would be welcomed. |

can i put out a theory....
wales ireland and scotland had done a lot better this season because you can tell the pace they play games at in Pro 14 is much quicker then top 14 and the aviva premiership.
their players look a lot fitter.... especially in the last 20's...... |

early thoughts...
earls is playing well but really didn't need to mark that ball, and i still think he is more centre than winger (thats where i think them not picking a zebo hurts...)
wayne barnes is very talkative today... its like he has learnt something from nigel owens..... |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big) | |
I’m hoping Scotland bring the same fire that they showed us two weeks ago, so far it’s intense on both sides |
