Phone back up question

So I have dropped my lovely S8+ and chipped and cracked the screen. It still works, but not as pretty, and I'm sure it's no longer waterproof.

I have to send it away to get repaired as per my phone insurance, but they have told me to wipe it first, and that it will be wiped again as part of the repair.

What is the best option for backing up ALL of my phone settings, media etc?

I have 64gb of internal memory, plus a 32GB (i think) SD card, both of which are approaching their limit.

What are my best options?

Use the free cloud storage you've undoubtedly been given by your service provider, Samsung, Google etc. Save it all to the cloud and instantly access it when your replacement/fixed phone comes back.

Hiding in the shadows

I've got the S8edge+

I've had Samsungs for years, everything is automatically saved to Google or the cloud.

Had to wipe all my phones when changeubg, it just all comes back when sim back in.

I don't do technical, so it just be easy to set up this system

Don't you have to set it up to do that? I don't have a Google set up on my phone or a cloud.

Yes the phone has to be set up to automate back ups. And some cloud providers have the facility to monitor uploads to the cloud and view what is being uploaded. Microsoft can and I think nut mot sure that Google can too.

You want them checking your messages and pics?

It only seems to be able to back up 15gb to google, of 15gb to samsung, or 5gb to one drive, none of them are enough

Play store. There are few and paid for cloud services. Check the recommendations. Some are more than a bit flakey

Does the Samsung S8+ take a 128gb SD card - if so then bavknyour internal memory on to that and then back up to a PC.

I guess I am just old but I don’t trust this cloud stuff! lol

Keep your local copy, as it's safer
