So.... I like to think I'm quite hospitable when I have people over... Swinging or otherwise. I make sure they have drinks, if they are there over meal times I feed them, if they stay over I make sure I'm up with them in the morning.
This is normal yes? Only, the other week I was with someone all day an did we went back to theirs. I stood there watching them scoff leftovers because they were hungry but not once was I offered anything to eat. I know them very well and so perhaps could have helped myself but their partner has made it clear he doesn't like it when people do that. I was also not offered any drinks other than a coffee when we first got back which I made because they were eating lol
Similarly, I stayed over at a friend's last night so I could ghac a drink. I've been up pottering about for a while now and they are moving about upstairs but none of the 3 of them have come down to see if I'm OK.
Is it me? Am I too nice to guests?! |

I would do the same as you with guests. I would treat them the same as I would hope to be treated myself.
To not offer you anything to eat was bang out of order. Why invite you back to theirs, if not to treat you as a guest |

I look after anyone that comes to my house..... even the gas check bloke got a mocca.
If someone is with me most of the day or evening i see it as my duty and being a nice guy to make sure they are comfortable happy and fed and watered. |

I can be terrible with offering out food and drinks, usually because I have nothing to offer. Also I don’t drink tea or coffee much at home so it doesn’t cross my mind to offer it! However if I knew someone was coming and staying over in advance I’d make sure I at least had bacon butties and a brew to offer |

If someone stayed over here i would treat them the same as you treat guests. I think you have been treated badly.
However as im very antisocial i dont encourage anyone other than close family (children and grandchildren) to stay over. |

How rude, I would always offer if I was eating. And I’d get up early if I had an overnight guest just to make sure they didn’t wake up and was left alone like you are x |

The morning after at a friend's house situation always bugs me and is one reason I rarely stay out overnight. I don't sleep well at others places and would generally like to get up early and just go home. Lying there waiting for people to get up gets right on my nerves lol |

No you are the perfect hostess, it is your friends that need to be taught how to look after guests |

Meanwhile whispering upstairs.
“Has she gone yet?”
“Did you see the way she was looking at us when we were eating”
“Why won’t she just go????????”
My friends know they can just help themselves when I’m dying of a hangover. (Within reason they can leave the TV) |

Yes it’s rude on their part Evie!! I’m
Like you and the one above who gets the bacon in etc for butties the next day. However it is partly this reason why I don’t accommodate FAB people who don’t accommodate me! Fed up of always putting myself out for other people |
