Stories in the news about Ant McPartlin's divorce, saying his wife could ask for a share of his future earnings, on top of half his current worth.
Do you think this is fair? |

I think this kind of thing is disgusting, the only money anyone should get from an ex, once you are divorced and everything is split between you, is maintenance for children. It's not like she is gonna actually be skint now, is it?! And no doubt she will be on tv or in the papers spilling her guts or promoting a book soon enough! |

No we were saying this last night.
She's a grown adult, with a job, shes going to get a payout hefty enough to last her life comfortably why does she need his future earnings too. |

"No.
The first time I heard of this was with Ray Parlour (ex footballer) a long time ago now.
It's not a new thing and I feel totally unfair"
Heard Ray Parlour speaking this week how his ex wife wasn't at all impressed when he received a £20,000 fine for aggressive behaviour on the pitch as that month she only received just over half of her cut, £10,000 |

I think it’s a very individual case by case basis
Some women give up careers or halt studies etc in order to support and allow a spouse to peruse their dreams and succeed.
That sacrifice doesn’t stop because one of them has bailed on the marriage. |

There's this and the fact that once lawyers are involved things get very difficult. |

"If she turned that down I would think she had greater integrity. Is it just media spin though or is that really what her lawyers are going for? "
The media are loving the shit stirring. |

Awww... that’s a shame that his marriage has broken. I don’t think it’s cool to take someone’s future earning unless you’re supporting a family together. If there are no kids involved neither should be entitled to anything after they agree on a settlement and go their separate ways. |
