You know what i found this morning on the carpet? A feather a little one apparently its a good omen but cant remember what it means.

It means your cushions have developed a slow puncture...and little by little feathers are escaping. That last one let the team down and got spotted on the carpet. I predict needle and thread will save the day.

You're still doomed by the way... because I predict several weeks after this incident and probably when you're in a rush to go out - a tiny hidden sliver of glass will have escaped the brush and hoover and will embed in your foot causing copious bleeding from the tiniest wound.
