I have 20 unread messages but don't know how to see them I can read the new ones can anybody help

Have you tried deleting some from your mailbox - both sent and received? There's a limit of 100 messages and once you go past that they drop off the page until you delete a few

Switch to the Grouped inbox you can see a little more then, but yup, you need to delete the older ones :/
