"They take all our money and use it to fly to where polar bears are and they watch them on our behalf."
That is what my grandson just said. Which made me wonder what the money is spent on and how they are helped. |

I imagine that the charities will claim 'important conservation work will be done', which means lots of people with letters after their names will claim to be educating people and observing. |

To be honest don't know what the problem is, they'll just be reverse evolution. Sure I've read polar bears have already mated with brown or grizzly bears. |

Do they get near enough to them to do that? |

Go in the swingers chat board then. This is the lounge where we can chat about whatever we like.
Now.... Back to polar bears! Conservation and research etc is what it pays for. My niece is polar bear mad and adopted a bear at Christmas. Her best present ever lol |

"Is it WWF?
If it is then I'd say no.
They are involved in the culling of seals. Don't trust them.
Donate your money (or whatever) to Sea Shepherd Conservation. Google is your friend.. "
I can't remember who it was on the advert. They want us to adopt a polar bear. |

I think you'll find polar bears cull more seals than the WWF. |

"Polar Bears are the only animal known to attack when not hungry. They kill not foe food, but for fun.
Foxes????
I don't think foxes attack people. "
I could be wrong, but I think its a misconception that foxes kill randomly esp re chickens, they see a large, immediate food store and often kill with a plan to store the food but are often disturbed.......I regret typing this, it is now stuck in my mind |

Lol.
That is the circle of life.
Do we set out to kill more wildebeest because of the lions, and the crocs have had their quota?

My point is when does one species become more important than the other. Seals can be culled and die a horrific death but polar bears can't? Surely a World Wilflife Fund should cover all world wildlife and not just who is flavour of the month.. |

No one said foxes! I think the typo was meant to say that polar bears kill not for food, but for fun.
So stop the foxy talk now. |

Rubbish... All animals will attack if they or their young are threatened enough.
There are also lots of animals that dont kill for food...not for fun...but out of viciousness...
Polecats, Stoats, Mink, Wolverines...mainly Mustelids of one sort or another but other animals as well. |

"I've seen the ads asking for us to adopt a polar bear.
How do they actually help them?"
Their natural habitat is reducing, so if you adopt one, once it becomes homeless they use your donatation to ship it to its adoptive parent |

Nope, polar bears are always hungry, so attack and eat most things they see. You have mistaken them for domestic cats |

Charities for all this kinda thing are pretty much useless until we as a human race stop fuckin destroying these creatures habitats . I'm sure some of them do there best ,but they can't replace the melting ice I'm afraid |

I only give to local charities and poppy day. I'm becoming very cynical about giving money to charities. |

Apparently becoming more common in Canada, hybrid off spring called Grolar Bears by all accounts. |

I want a Polar bear, Penguin, Flamingo and orangutan...
I do my bit by avoiding palm oil products as best as I can (Orangutans) and doing my washing at 30 degrees and trying not to heat my home too warm (Global Warming)
As for giving money, I am cynical and if I can reduce my carbon footprint or help in other ways I will, love to go to a scanturn and lend a helping hand... |

In Canada is a swim with polar bears experience. It must be awful for the bears swimming in water night next to kids and adults but between them is 10" of plexiglass both below and about 10ft up in air. I've not been there when was in Canada but did read a leaflet at time. It was around 2009 if anyone wants to check it out.
The pictures on leaflet if remember right made me think...here a bear wanting what it wants just all the time..food...and here we have small food dangled in their faces...look but can't touch. |

It's thought polar bears evolved from grizzly bears so maybe it's just regressive memory on the polar bears part. Either that or polar bears are like some women on Fab who think blacks better! |

Could be the male polar bears hunting further afield for black bear mates. Aren't black bears little? |
