I have recently discovered custard covered fruit slices that are impossible to say no to. They have put doughnuts into second place. I love custard but not a lot of places serve it which is my saving grace |

Oooh I've been hankering for one for months - not spotted one anywhere so far though! They remind me of a holiday in Spain where we used to have them for breakfast on the way home from the clubs at 4am every morning, all warm and freshly cooked straight from the side door of the bakery....ooooh yum!! |

"For me ambrosia custard straight from the tin or even better licked from the body of an eager woman. And no donuts"
Whoa there tiger, this is a serious debate about donut filling of choice. We can't be having any of that sexy talk here. |

"It's a yes from me... all doughnuts are my favourite.. . Not the chocolate filled ones or covered ones... just jam or custard or Apple filled ones or plain fing donuts mmmmmm "
I love apple doughnuts ... someone needs to make an apple & custard doughnut though |

I'd choose custard doughnuts over jam ones any day - however put an apple filled one next to a custard one and I'll have a dilemma...
...Morticia the apple/custard mixed doughnut needs to become a thing!! |

I'm guilty of eating it straight from the tin, but frustrating as you can't get it all out because of the grooves. It wouldn't be right to try and lick the tin out would it |

Well folks. It's a resounding display of agreement not usually seen on the forums.
I'm off to collect Mrs N from work. The chances of me stopping at the shops for a bag (or 2) of those little sugary balls of joy is quite high. |

Variations on the donut is allowed then but not variations on the custard. Ok. My bad
Not big on actual donuts but profiteroles are pure sex |

One of my American friend is, somewhat, strange about food (he's from Texas).
Breakfast: Krispy Kreme doughnuts (choice from a box of 12), in the UK Pop Tarts.
Other meals: Meat and potatoes, other vegetables were, invariably, eugh.
No tea or coffee, just Dr Pepper.

He used to own a cattle ranch.
That was until he discovered that he was sitting on top of a gas deposit.
Four US$5 million wellheads installed by a gas company and he sits back and banks US$1 million per month.
He collects and restores antique fire engines and flies about in a Vietnam war era Hughes OH-6 Cayuse.

I'm back in the debating room, no prizes for guessing what I sat scoffing while waiting for Mrs N at the clinic.
I was walking through the co-op, when a bag of those little blighters fair jumped into my basket. What's a guy to do? I couldn't lose my place in the queue to return them to the shelf. I was stuck with them. |
