Isnt if funny that when you use the looked at me function to see who's been perving at you profile that there are always the few ones that pop up here and there almost everyday who are either not on your friends list or have never chatted to you.....
so you send a message saying 'like what you see?' only to get no reply back, a message saying oh sorry clicked onto your profile by accident or a 'oh sorry was reading it' (but they have looked about 5 times that day?) lol
Anyway just think it's great as im sure most people forget the function is there sometimes  x |

I went for ages with very few 'looked at me' now get loads each day.
I think its things like changing avatar photo around and updating status, as people just like to perv profiles.
I have mailed a few couples where the looking ping pong has gone on, but generally nothing ever comes back. Then there are the ones who say no single guys, but keep looking, so don't mail them.

The ones who look 4 and 5 times a day are usually the ones with no pics on their profile, but are happy to ignore you but still look at your profile/pics |

As I never send the first message, I tend to look at profiles more than once, that I am interested in meeting. So I would never hide the fact that I am looking. I can imagine that some members in the south west must be saying "ere Vera, that skinny dude has been looking at us again!". But if people tire of me looking without messaging, and they don't wish to contact me, they can always block me, that's never an issue, I don't tend to take offence. |

Or what about the ones that start of by winking at you, so you send a message 'thanks for the wink' etc , you see that it's been read, and they cant even be botherd to reply, whats that all about? lol
(often think we should maybe use photoshop a bit or better still change mr mids ethnic group and change from 8inches to 12inches, then maybe we will get a reply?? lol)

I think the reason why some people hide themselves is because of the "pouncers". Those people that believe because they have been looked at they are immediately going to get some and then get mardy when their immediate response to the view fails.
I think the site is great, but in the search criteria function, it would be good to filter out things like "won't meet smokers" etc, but on the other hand, we have all put ourselves out there to be viewed, the consequences of this action must be accepted for good or ill |

Couple of thoughts on why multiple visits to profiles.
1.) bad memory
2.) Just looked at the photos first time

if you post in forums think you can expect to be looked at by readers who aren't actually interested so the Looked at Me thing isn't really an indicator of interest. Having said that its always funny to see the recurring ones, or guys who we have had to reject in the past keep looking. |

This is why I block people who have either backed out or said a polite no thanks, not my type etc. It's nothing personal, just making sure that we don't go through the same process again. |

I never bother with the looked at me feature and if I did I wouldn't message those that had. If they want to message me they will.

Thats the thing to be fair, why should we bother sending a message to someone that has looked at us if they dont message us first,
surely if they have looked and nothing more then that means they either dont like what they see, just into perving, or they are simply not interested in us. |

There could be another reason:
There are so many profiles (most I have read to be honest) that start with a list of negatives and updates that conclude with 'we will block you'. You kind of get the impression that as a single guy if you so much as think about sending a message to anyone you'll get run out of town.
I know that's not the case with yours OP (I just had a peek, will send a message that you can ignore on my fifth visit today) but it could be one reason why messages aren't sent. |

We have a few that look at our profile a few times a week.
Wouldn't email them as if they wanted to get in contact with us, then they would have by now.

I didn't even realise people could look at who has viewed their profile, oops i guess i better give up lurking .
In all honesty i sometimes don't message people for months who i have an interest in, not because im shy, but because i understand the impact of first impressions. A lazy or badly written message can get you instantly deleted as easily as someone simply not being interested. So i tend to wait until i think i have something interesting,cheeky,witty to say in first contact.
And then there is the fact people update their profiles, plus i have memory retention issues so i often recall being interested in someone and then forget specific things i was going to mention in first contact for example.. at the end of the day, some people will be interested and never make contact, others will.
Oh and the obvious... nothing wrong with window shopping.
I have never really used the who's looking at me function.. i don't even know if i can.

I have a couple that continuously request friendship; in fact one weekend it was four times, never ever have they sent me a message so I've blocked them now and used my status to inform them that they didn't read my profile or maybe they just cannot read  and no I didn't name them but they hopefully will know it was aimed at them |

What about those ones who dress in combat gear and black their faces, then climb over the fence and slip the back door latch. Then they go into your bath and fill it neck deep and leave the wet black smudged towels for you to clean up. They must be dead annoying. |
