.. well actually it didn’t. My life is very boring and very little out of the ordinary happens to me.
But I bet there’s plenty of tales of strange or spooky or unusual things that have happened to you.
Ever seen or witnessed anything strange or that gave you goosebumps?
Ever experienced anything you can’t explain?
Ever had the (metaphorical!) willies put up you that to this day you have no logical rationale for?

A few odd things. Worst one was re occuring dreams, went through a phase of having premonition dreams of death.
Over the space of four years I dreampt 5 people I knew well were going to die....
The dreams would last for a few weeks... horrble, cannot describe what it does mentally to you. Afraid to sleep, paranoia, panic attacks.
It stopped when I dreampt of my Dad, he died within two weeks of having the dream about him.
Now I can sense when a death of someone close to me, or close tona friend is imminent.... can't describe it. I just know.
It's horrible. Started mindfulness and spiritual guidance to try and block it out.
Think of it what you will. It's damn scary, only one person in real life knows of this, and it freaks him the hell out. It freaks me out, never mind anyone else.

that is weird and I can understand why it’s scary, particularly with loved ones.
It’s like that story of that cat in the hospice that always used to go and sit on the beds of the next person to die - somehow it always knew.

That's ok, people can think what they like, though it's not something I share in real life to people.
Last one was my Mum, I saw her in the week she died, I just knew... Told her I loved her and gave her the biggest hug as I left, she berated me for being soppy lol.
The day before they turned her life support off I was at home and felt something pop inside, like a lightbulb going out, I believe she died at that moment.
Just weeks before a friend was complaining about having to take her Mum shopping, without thinking I said 'you have to worry for much longer' she laughed... Her Mum died the weekend after

Understood, good luck my friend, just remember it was only a dream and the mind does funny things when asleep that mostly doesn’t correlate to anything “real” |

Not long after my grampy passed away (i was very close to my nan and gramp) i had a dream about him. It was just a dream of him standing at the entrance to my bedroom door. He didn't say nothing, he just stood there.
I woke up and i just felt at peace. Like he'd come to say goodbye.
It was probably just my mind's way of trying to give me comfort, and it worked. |

Not really goosebumps or anything but it’s a nice thing. I started working where I am now (ac in a care home, used to live in Kent so almost 60 miles away) and there I was going to leave one evening and walking round the corner was a face I recognised, a face from Kent and not only that someone that I used to know very well, my eldest and her eldest daughter used to go to school together and went to each other first birthdays, infact this lady was the first person I ever spoke to when I lived in edenbridge, she lived about 30 seconds away from me.
I say ‘hello what are you doing here?’ She looks like she’s seen a ghost, not seen her for years, turns out her nan was one of the oldest in the home! Now me and the nan have great chats about it and it’s lovely!!

it really can be a small world at times can’t it? True story - I was on a boat going out to the Great Barrier Reef out of Port Douglas in Australia a few years back and got talking to another tourist on the boat. Turns out she lived in the next village and was a regular in our local pub. Yet we met halfway around the world! |

It’s amazing isn’t it, Ads went to Corfu one year and bumped into someone he used to work with. I was at a services in the West Country and bumped into one of my boys teachers, maybe the world isn’t so small lol.

"I’m currently experiencing either a blast from the past or a mahoooosive case of deja vu.
No willies metaphorical or otherwise to be seen "
Yes, blast from the past, indeed.
Anyway, OP, I've seen a ghost and yet I don't believe in them. I'm stuck in an ontological parodox. |

I have my Grandparents old clock in my house. The mechanism is completely goosed and beyond repair. It’s chimed oddly several times over the years but never the whole tune. About two weeks ago it started to chime and it left me rooted to the spot as it went through the whole chime and back again.
I like to think they’re hanging around with me. |

Wow, as a one-off or has it happened again since? Was it a special day / occasion? That must have been unnerving but exciting at the same time! |

Nope... hasn’t happened again... well not when I’ve been in!
I told my Dad and he said the clock part isn’t worth getting fixed but I’m tempted to take it into a repair shop and ask them. I’m not sure I’d want to replace the whole clock part, I’d much rather have it fixed but I don’t think it’s doable. My Dad is generally clued up on that sort of stuff. |

Isn't that from Stephen Kings book "Doctor Sleep" (the sequel to The Shining)? |

One night I was drifting if to sleep and it felt like someone sat on the bed next to me the duvet got all tight but I was too far sleepy to be scared or wake up. Another night again falling to sleep and it felt like a cat walked up my body and curled up and fell asleep on me. I used to have cats so know how that felt but I don’t have any now |

Very strange! At least you weren’t too alarmed! I know that feeling when you’re tired, I’ve heard noises in the night and thought ‘ah fuck it, I’m too snug to be scared or wake up properly’ |

Yeah. I so believe in ghosts and think I have someone in my house but I’ve been here 6 years and nothing bad has happened so fingers crossed. Then I just convince myself it’s because it’s an old creaky house lol |

interesting - thanks for sharing. Definitely sounds like a connection of some sort, and your intervention sounds timely! I hope the medication works for her! |

As a kid I had a reoccurring nightmare about being attacked by a dog, the dog would chase me and would always catch me just as I reached my front door sinking its teeth in. I received a teddy bear as a present one year that I brought to bed with me each night and one night I had this nightmare again but only this time my teddy was with me, as usual the dog chased me and as usual I reached my front door just as the dog was about to sink its teeth in, only this time I shielded myself with the teddy and the dog bit the teddy and ch ocked to death on its nose, after that night I never had that nightmare ever again. Fast forward twenty or so years and im going through boxes of my old stuff at my mums house when I find my teddy in a bag with his nose missing, I asked my mum what happened to it and she told me that her new dog had bitten it off and had to get it removed |

Well, they say (not that I've bothered researching it) that if you actually die in your dream, rather than waking up at the last second, you won't wake up.
I died and felt myself depart my body, looking back at my corpse. It all felt extremely real, not like a dream at all. On a positive note, I did wake up though |
