well done, I can imagine it can’t have been easy but now you’re over that hill hopefully you won’t be tempted to return!
As a reward you should treat yourself to something nice with some of the money you e saved in the meantime! It’s only fair! |

Well done!! The addiction only takes 3 weeks to break - it’s the physical habit bit now
If you find yourself missing it out of habit, build a new habit - so after dinner used up kill me, but I started going for a stroll round the block instead as soon as I finished eating. Soon stopped the habit of wanting to light up!!
Keep it up, lovely!! xx |

"That’s cool. I quit 10 years ago in May. Best thing I’ve ever stopped doing, worst thing I ever started "
Same here 10 years and 3 month ago. I still get the odd "ooh i fancy a fag" but it's gone in seconds, i even go in my pocket looking for my tabs ha ha |

A very well done and keep it up...it only takes a momentary lapse of concentration. Happy to supply you an alternative for you to fiddle with or put between your lips . Keep thinking of all those treats with the money saved |

"Very well done. How have you done it just willpower or something else"
Kinda cold turkey .. I have a vape with 0% nicotine but I can’t get on with it so haven’t used it
Yes been a right bitch (please see last 3 weeks forum contributions pmsl) but other than a bit teary I’ve not had the urge to smoke
Mr Inked has given up too so that helps |

I wish I could give up, it’s something I wished I never started. I only started about three years ago, I used to smoke socially but then I started full time because I was looking at all the smokers getting to have extra breaks and wanted in!
I keep saying I will stop and had a bit of a wake up call the other day when I worked out in my head how much I spend a month, I just haven’t had that moment yet of ‘nope that’s enough’ and I’m finding every excuse not to stop, I will hopefully.
Well done OP. I wish I had your willpower!

Most people wait for that moment, it rarely happens for anyone. I'm currently on champix, day 7 and no effect other than making me tired. Hoping the increased dosage from tomorrow helps. |

"Well done lv. Can i ask how you did it ? Im hoping to stop very soon x"
Half the battle is really wanting to do it
No matter how dangerous to my health it was sounds harsh but I didn’t care
The thing that did it for me finally was the cost
30 a day = £13.50
Cost per week £94.50
Cost per month £405.00
Cost per year £4927.50 !!!!!!
Why the actual fuck am I wasting nearly £5000 a year on smoking !
£5000 !!!
That’s what made me stop lol

30 a day! That's a lot.
I vape now. I just like a puff. Spend £10 a month on liquid. Feel better than smoking and don't stink. Amazing how you can smell other people who smoke and how bad it smells and you Dont notice when you smoke.. |

Try gaping. Saves a lot of money and you do feel better. If you feel you can't stop its a better option |

Well done,
If you ever get the urge or even fall off the wagon. Try something called EFT {emotional freedom techniques} basically it's like acupuncture but without the needles. |

WTG lovey x That's brilliant xx
I 'quit' NYE, been using a vape since.
At home, work, alone I'm fine, but i've had a couple of moments of weakness when out with friends who smoke.
I've gone from smoking a pouch of baccy a week, to a few crafty puffs of friends ciggies, just need to conquer the social/drinking craving now.

I have friends that can smole the weekends and not touch them in the week
I’m an all or nothing type ..addictive personality lol |

That's the one thing that wasn't really a factor on my quitting.
I got my baccy via a friend who travels for work & used to bring it back for me, so it only cost me about £10 a week!
But I do love a good road trip & party, so I suppose £500ish would pay for a fair amount of diesel |

Aw well done everyone who's moved on from smoking (I prefer to say something like move on cos it sounds better than quit or stop to me and sounds less like you're going without something).
As for me, I'm struggling too much to manage going completely without at the mo. I would honestly cry and be in a mess, and it would affect me too much at work. I'm already emotional and on edge due to other things as it is, but I moved on from smoking before n I will again.
I'm spending maybe as much as 500 a year which is massive for me, considering I never even smoked properly until the last couple of years or so.
I agree that the 'social' bit can be a real hurdle. x |

And I noticed I'm getting angry and even snapping at people at work which is really unlike me. And it would be worse if I just went cold turkey right away. I didn't wanna say cos I don't want to put people off me! x |
