Why do people use the unread option when they have clearly read the message. ??
I can't think of anything it achieves apart from pissing the sender of message off.
If your not interested. Just say so. Why leave it showing as unread for 2 3 weeks when you have clearly been on site everyday. |

Because they can. Have a wank and calm down!
I will leave messages unread until I'm ready to deal with them. I clear the read mail to keep track of messages so if I read one I'm not ready to deal with it will get deleted. |

I don't read all my messages. If it's a message that doesn't interest me, I just let it fall off the bottom of a page. I bulk delete every so often, to tidy up my inbox. I'm not going to change my approach. It works for me |

Attractions. ???
Can I ask you young couples and young ladies what is the attraction of older men ??
I'm fortunate to have a bit of interest from the younger ones on this site.
But the percentage of local ish and therefore realistic meets is low due to distance.
When I look at the profiles that have viewed me. My jaw drops. They are sex on legs. People I would spend hours just eating they are so gorgeouse. .
So when I look in the mirror and see a six pack that has turned into a beer keg, and bleached highlights that have turned grey.
A back that photographed close up would have David Attenborough reminiscing about silver back gorillas.
My question is to all you sexy young minxes and smooth shaven femining Tv's .what should I try to improve to get the more local interest. I'm aware a question like this will generate the odd comedian to respond .??
But any suggestions would be most appreciated.

The first three words of a PM tell me whether I should bother. The age shown by the title also let’s me know whether it’s worth reading. I bulk delete generally cause frankly it’s not worth my time wading through shite from people who’ve not read my profile. I certainly wouldn’t read then mark as unread... delete is quicker. |

They are saying so, by not responding to your message.

As a couple if one of us reads a message we think the other will like we read it then mark as unread. This allows the other person to notice the message, otherwise it gets lost in amongst the others.
OP you're maybe talking about messages you send to single females but when sending to couples guys often don't consider only 1 if us is online at a time and it might be a day before the other one goes on to check messages.
And don't get me started on auto removed pics, I always miss out!

"Do you mean you've seen a message has been read but then it has been marked unread? "
No.
I sense that due to either previouse correspondence or the wording of the message that there is no way they have ignored it for 3 weeks.
I feel you can tell after a while what type of profile generates so much interest that you can except they haven't got round to you yet.
But that works both ways.
Example ===
Young 18yr old into everything sexual can accommodate. ???
Above gets so much interest you just wait and hope
I'm no James Dean.
But then I'm not looking for Liz
Taylor. |

Messages fall to the bottom of of the page very fast though, in my experience. If I haven't read it within a day, it's no longer accessible unless I delete messages |

Unread messages are a good indicator to me that either they aren’t interested, I’ve managed to bore the pants off them, they’ve found something that sustains and captures their interest more or they’ve had quite a few messages since and can no longer see or have forgotten about it. Either way it means conversation over. Forget about it and move on. |

Not always lovely. If I'm speaking to someone regularly, it can be easy to miss a message from them. If I haven't read a message from someone I speak to usually, thats usually the reason. Not because I want to stop talking . |

if they havent replied, that, surely, is the only answer you need. And just because someone looks at your profile you message them?...that's the very reason a lt of women look at profiles in stealth mode.. |

I mark it unread to remind myself to go back and reply when I have more time to send a thought out message. Sometimes I’m not in the mood for chatting and mark it unread for when I am or sometimes it’s so we can get each other to read it. |

I realise that is the case with someone you might speak to regularly but at that time that particular conversation is still over. If I sat around waiting for a reply to every message I sent to my friends I’d go demented. If a particular conversation is retuned to I’ve often forgotten about it because my memory ain’t what it used to be. |

Just because someone looks at you doesnt mean they want to talk. If they did they'd probably have messaged you. |

I use the save function for that if I’ve got quite a bit of traffic. As it’s easier to find in the saved box. |

Mark unread if it's of interest. So we both can read it AND otherwise the pictures dissapear (if site supporter).
Sometimes the sender see's we have been online and deletes the pics from their end and blows their chance with it.

Yep that’s a bit of a problem I guess with the pics function for site supporters. Especially if they use the self-destruct when read function |

Sometimes people mark as unread to remind them to reply later on e.g. if they need to consider what is the best response...
Anyway who gives a fcuk, go find something important to get pissed off at as life's too short |
