It’s caused a bit of a storm from the cost to the style.
Whatcha think of it Fabbers? For those that haven’t seen he’s had a ‘Number 1’ shave and in my opinion looks much better on him than his old longer style.
I know it’s a bit trivial and hardly newsworthy - but apparently it was £180. At my spit and sawdust place they’d do that for £6.50! |

Blimey that's expensive! I expect he thinks all haircuts cost that much, I doubt he has any reason to be aware of what the average person pays.
Mr N does his own with clippers and I reckon the cost of them plus electricity used works out to about 2p a cut. |

I honestly cant see it being a factual story. I have the same hair line and I went out and got a pair of clippers for £20 and they last a good 5 years i can do it my self or ask a partner to do it so this just cant be true . unless he had massage and skalp treatment |

I'm. A No1 all over.
I've said it here before and it's not a pop at barbers but I grew sick of being charged £10 every 3 weeks for being sat in the chair for 5 mins max.
It cost me £30 for my own WHAL (SP) shavers.
Takes me longer but time is on my side and i've saved a couple of hundred pound I think.
I haven't seen his picture but I look alright. If it's good enough for our service men it's good enough for him.
Hope he buys his own shavers too and Kate does the bit around the back for him. I also hope she sorts her garden out with it too but dosent tell him. |

I don't generally give a second thought to what the royals pay for things, but for this to be in the public domain is wrong. As they receive tax payer funding there are some things they should try and demonstrate value for money, but they also represent us all and it would have made a much better story had he visited a local barber and be seen to be supporting small businesses and local communities.

It was Kate's hairdresser that did it I think, which raises the question of how much does she pay?
He has just received 10 million from a trust fund in his moms name, so I guess it's his money to spend how he sees fit,

He's paying for a professional hairdressers time.
Personally I think £180 is probably quite cheap.
My Mrs used to pay £100 for a "good" hairdressers cut and streaks (about one and a half hours)
Now I'm presuming the hairdresser went to Williams place to cut it so although the "cut" might not be expensive or time consuming the total trip may well have been over two hours.
So I'd say £180 is probably quite reasonable |

That's like saying your wages is our money so we have a right to tell you how to spend it?.
He does a job that he gets paid for, you can argue about the amount he gets paid for sure but technically he brings in more money than he gets paid (the essence of all work) so he's free to spend it how he pleases |

I'll try and explain it in simple terms for you.
Let's take Alton towers, they put a new ride in, that ride costs a million pounds to build but brings in 1.5 million in revenue, they build new rides because people want to visit for a new ride, nobody thinks that NO people will ever come if you don't build the new ride, people will still come!.
But with the new ride you get more people coming, that's why the new ride PAYS for its million pound build cost.
Now me personally, I'm not in favour of a royal family and I'm certainly no royalist, but it's got nothing to do with wether William spends X amount of HIS EARNED MONEY on a haircut or not |

That said the rich and famous are easily parted from their money. People like Katie Price and Cheryl Cole pay thousands for extensions. My hairdresser charges £70! |

Yes, that's a good point and I agree. But I still don't think that this kind of story shows them in a good light, the purpose of the articles on this I think were only to provide publicity to the barber and cast negativity on the royals hence my comment it should not be in the public domain. |

Or was it £180 for a year’s worth of cuts?

"I've paid that much and more for haircuts in London hairdressers. Not had the same style as the Prince though"
To be fair, a woman's hair cut you wouldn't bat an eyelid at, I have really thick hair so can easily spend 2 hours in the hairdressers just for a cut and blow dry, I would expect to pay in excess of this in London for myself, but not for a 15 minute buzz cut. |

Right, here goes.
The royal family pay more in tax than they receive from the tax payer.
Prince William inherited a large amount of money from his mother.
He is supporting a local business.
He has done a lot of good work for charity, probably a lot more than the people moaning about the cost of his money.
The cut was done by hand not clippers...
So over all a bit of a non story. |

Pick up a history book indeed.
You will see from history, when royalty has been removed, in most cases it is actually the poorer classes that suffer most.
France and Russia are two very good examples of this. |
