I know it's a while away, but we need some practical, cheap ideas for World Book Day.
Our children's school has avoided the idea for a couple of years, but this year's it's back and parents are asked to create an outfit for their child to wear to school.
We are not the most creative of folks and we have twins so are asking for as many ideas as possible
Thanks x |

Ordinarily clothed characters always work well.
Matilda simply needs a book and a red ribbon alongside a plain outfit.
Harry Potter just a wand and glasses. He isn’t always in robes. |

When my kids were that age I went to the lengths of being creative and making costumes when so many just go to the shops and buy the outfits!
One year a parent had bought a very expensive (turned out to be shipped over from the U.S ) costume and it won the best costume prize! Where others had gone to the lengths of being original and making them. That was unfair.
Where's wally is easy and popular. Harry Potter etc. Most girls turn up in Disney princess dresses that are very easy to come by.
Good luck op |

I know what you mean, it's a competition between parents these days, which isn't my thing. Cheap and cheerful is what I'm planning.
Loving the Where's Wally idea, so many characters in that book as well |
