"I have had the call and on Monday I start a new job as a driver's help escorting special needs and people with learning difficulties to and from different centres. But my job title is Driver's Escort . surely they could call it something nicer "
Good luck in your new job though, sounds very rewarding |

I’ve a friend that did that. During the summer she went on job seekers and told them she was an escort. Poor innocent girl didn’t even think about it. Wondered why the guy kept grinning at her lol |

Nothing wrong with that job tittle in my view . In the dictionary escort is guide or accompanying someone. I escort my son everyday to the bus stop. The famous and politician use police escort , at my work we use is bus escort or guiding, they come in with their reflective jackets after school . I think is all to with people minds . |

I used to love being an escort, I got to spend time with some lovely kids and even babies taking them to school and on visits to see their parents in contact centres. You’ll have a great time, it can be very rewarding yet heartbreaking at the same time. |

I used to do that.
It didn't even cross my mind when telling new employers about my previous work...
At the time, I was innocent and had no idea that it was a term also used for prostitutes.
I only clocked on when one person interviewing me gave me a confused look and, when I explained, he broke into uncontrollable laughter. - I got that job by the way. XD

Good luck by the way, it can be wonderfully rewarding and you'll fall in love with some of your clients and their families, but there may also be some that break your heart.
I remember regularly taking the most wonderful little girl to see her Mum at a contact centre.
50% of the time, she just wouldn't bother turning up - Trying to remain professional while having to console this poor, innocent soul, who had had her excitement dashed and who just couldn't understand why her Mum wasn't coming and thought she wasn't wanted was very difficult to handle.
You want so much to take them home sometimes.
